wonderful cuisines enjoyed in Australia. With an abundance of fresh
ingredients available to us, combined with creative chefs, Culinary Edge

Our cocktail menus take you on a food journey, each mouthful an explosion
of flavour, from the fragrant cooking styles of South East Asia, through the
pungent spices of the Middle East, to the more subtle flavours of France
and Italy. Sit down menus are put together with an eye to balance,
freshness and generosity. Classic European cooking techniques paired with
modern flavours deliver a contemporary Australian cuisine.
Charles Wilkins started Culinary Edge in 1995 to offer quality food and
service to the special events industry, and we quickly became the caterer of
choice for high profile events in the media, performing arts and financial
industries. Soon we were awarded contracts to operate the catering and
Restaurant at the Museum of Contemporary Art, followed by the Bistro and
bars at Sydney Theatre in Walsh Bay.
Simon Fox started his career in London working in some of the finest
Michelin star restaurants. He has led the food direction and kitchen brigade
at Culinary Edge for over 15 years, and brings with him a wealth of
experience gained from Europe and Australia. Whether catering a VIP lunch
in a boardroom or a black tie dinner for 1000 guests, his dedication and
attention to detail ensures each event exceeds a customer’s expectation.

Canape Menu Packages
Organising a function, whether private or corporate, can be demanding enough without the
added pressure of creating the perfect menu from a suppliers endless canape list.
Menus, and especially canapé party menus, need to be meticulously created to accommodate
flavours, textures, style of cooking and cuisines and dietary considerations, whilst first and
foremost making sure your guests are well fed and satisfied with the quality of food they are
consuming.
No canape on the menu should be the same and each item has a purpose to provide a
completely different culinary experience for your guests.
Many years of catering has provided Culinary Edge with the expertise to create and offer menus
that have been well crafted and thought out.
Culinary edge has designed three thoughtfully considered canapé menu packages that have been
specifically selected to take into account your event’s timing, style of function and number of
guests. With the added piece of mind that the listed package price is exactly the price you pay
and there are absolutely no hidden costs.
Of course, no two events are the same and many of our clients like to create their own menus to
match their specific requirements. Culinary Edge is always happy to create tailored bespoke
menus, working with you to accommodate your wishes and fit within your budget.

proud gastronomic tradition and culture since the dawn of the second millennium. Matured for over 18
months, Grana Padano has a grainy texture hence its name Grana.

Menu and beverage package price includes event service waiters at 1:25 ratio.
Minimum 150 guests catered & charged for cocktail functions in the Foundation Hall and
minimum 50 guests for cocktail functions on the Garden Terrace.
For functions where guest arrival is before commencement of Food & Beverage service,
such as wedding ceremonies or presentations, additional early set up charges will apply
for staff.
Bookings are not considered confirmed until 50% deposit is received, based on an
estimate of catering charges.
Confirmed minimum numbers required minimum 7 business days prior, together with full
balance of payment based on confirmed numbers.
All Prices subject to change, full terms & conditions including cancellation policy are listed
on Invoice.
With respect to food allergies, all menus may contain traces of nuts.

Frequently Asked Questions – Cocktail
HOW EARLY CAN MY EVENT COMMENCE
Your venue hire agreement with the MCA will provide the access time to the venue,
this is to include the set up time for your event. Generally we require 1 – 2 hours for
a Cocktail style event or 3 – 4 hours for a dinner event, subject to the event
requirements. In all instances access to the terrace area of the venue is after 5pm for
set up and events are able to commence from 6pm.
Additional access time is to be arranged in the first instance direct with the MCA,
additional fees may apply.
CAN I JUST PAY FOR THE FOOD AND BRING IN MY OWN ALCOHOL
No, MCA Venues are not BYO venues. If you would like to bring in your own
beverages, a full house beverage package must be purchased for the duration and
confirmed numbers of your event.
IS THERE FLEXIBILTY WITH YOUR SUGGETSED MENUS
Yes absolutely - We are always happy to create bespoke menus and make changes to
meet your preferences, including cultural specific menus.
I WANT A GRAZING TABLE ONLY, IS THIS POSSIBLE
No, Grazing tables are only available in conjunction with a full listed suggested
canape menu or equivalent.
CAN I BRING IN MY OWN CATERING
No, Culinary Edge are the exclusive caterers for the Foundation Hall & Garden
Terrace, all food and beverage must be provided by Culinary Edge.
HOW ARE DIETARY REQUIREMENTS MANAGED
Once we have received a full list of the dietary meals required for your event, our
chefs will create dishes that encompass all the dietary requirements. Unfortunately we
are unable to confirm requests for dietary meals.
CAN WE REMOVE THE TERRACE FURNITURE
After 5pm the 4 x picnic tables can move within the terrace space itself.
The umbrellas cannot be removed and can be open or closed for your event,
weather dependant.
The wooden shelves and pot plants are not able to be moved.
WHAT OTHER FURNITURE IS INCLUDED
The venue has 5 high top bar cocktail tables. Similar style stools can be hired
through Culinary Edge.
Two clothed trestle tables for guests arrival registration are also available.
Additional white linen is available at an additional cost.
