ABC Holland asked Studio OxL for a feasibility report about an Asian Cultural Centre at the Kruiskade Rotterdam

Former Nighttown and WATT pop centre have a huge history in Rotterdam and the Dutch pop culture.

ABC Holland had the ambition to rehabilitate the empty building and reconnect it to Rotterdam’s city life.

The main goal was to relocate the centre in the cultural hard of Rotterdam and to make it part of the multicultural roots of the Kruiskade.

The centre would contain a cultural street, event dinning and hotel. The strategy was to connect it the interior with the park and to build roof gardens for the hotel. The interior itself would be flexible and good be moved around. Main concern was to understand the capacity of the building and position kitchen, tables and area’s for events.
