There are nearly 4 million hectares of forests in Bulgaria, which represent 34% of our territory.

Our forests are on average 49 years old. Nearly 55% of them are young, 30% are 40 – 80 years old and centuries – old forests are 9.2%.

they provide 85% of water resources of the country or 3.5 milliards cubic metres pure drinking water.

Keep forests, because:

Bulgaria is on the third place in Europe of

biological diversity with a lot of rare and endemic

species.

There is a great variety of organisms in our forests.

On the Bulgarian territory are differentiated 3 national parks, 10 Natural parks and 55 forest reserves.
