Welcome to the first newsletter of the new academic year. For those of you who don’t know me yet, I am Mrs Jarman, Year Leader of Year 5. In the year group we have a fantastic team of dedicated staff who are all as excited as me about the year ahead. They are looking forward to ensuring your child the opportunity to realise their full potential, through their passionate and enthusiastic approaches.

It has been wonderful to see every child back to start the new school year. For some of you, this may be the first time that your child has been in school since March; school life is in many ways exactly the same as it was, but some things are very different. The entire year 5 team are here to make the transition back into school go smoothly and ensure that your child feels safe and comfortable with the ‘new normal’ way of school life.

This will be an unusual year for us all; I will keep you up to date with all important dates and information through the Year Group Newsletter and the Year 5 SeeSaw accounts. Mrs Penny is our class TA she

loves to read, watch movies

and go out for dinner, as well

as riding her bike and working

out!

Mrs Jarman. I enjoy reading, especially

children’s fiction, I can recommend lots

of great books. I like riding my bike and

going on long walks with my 2 dogs.

Mrs Keeler is our TA, she has 3

cats at home but her favourite

animal is the cow! She loves

reading and reads when ever she

can.

Miss Pitt. I have a little dog called Chip

who is a mixture of everything...people

call him a Heinz 57! I love chocolate,

Dairy Milk Wholenut is my favourite. My

favourite takeaway food is pizza!

Miss Goode. I have worked at the school

for a number of years mainly in year 3. I

like lots of subjects but my favourite is

History as I love to learn about the past.

Mrs Sandwell is our TA. Mrs Sandwell

is very good at crossword puzzles; she

loves reading and eating Italian food.

She also enjoys waling by the coast.

Miss Davies. I love Disney, the colour pink

and anything that is glittery and sparkly! I

enjoy eating yummy chocolate, boxing,

travelling and spending time with my family

and friends.

Mrs Wright is our class TA, she is

very creative and enjoys arts and

crafts! In her spare time she likes to

draw, play board games and enjoy

family film nights.

Team Newington

In term 1 we will be looking at what it means to be part of Team Newington. What part we play in the team, and the importance of looking after others as well as ourselves.

Important Information!

The School day starts at 8:30 for Year 5 children.

Children must bring in their own water bottle every day.

PE is on Friday, children must wear their PE kit to school. There will not be able an opportunity to change during the school day.
