Location Sydney or Melbourne based. R U OK? offer a

flexible working environment. Our Sydney office is located in Millers Point. We accommodate a mix of office based and remote work.

Qualifications and Experience required

• At least three (3) years’ experience in program development

• Program development experience within the not-for-profit sector preferred

• Tertiary Qualifications in community services, counselling, sociology or equivalent field welcomed

• Experience working with lived experience networks

• Experience in training facilitation and resource delivery welcomed

• Experience in impact evaluation welcomed • Experience in coordinating community activities

welcomed • Experience working with program funders

welcomed • Strong communication skills • Ability to connect with a diverse range of

Primary Purpose To manage and strengthen the R U OK? Ambassador Program consisting of around 100 trained and highly valued volunteers who generously donate their time and energy to share insights, ideas and stories of hope. Success in this role will be measured by a structured highly functioning Ambassador Program in accordance with community needs, training requirements, impact measurement and funding deliverables. The role ensures Ambassadors are supported in their R U OK? efforts with skills and interests matched to community needs. The role includes liaison with community event organisers to allocate Ambassadors to speak at events when requested and pending availability. Effective communication with Ambassadors and event hosts is highly regarded during the R U OK?Day peak period to ensure all parties feel valued, inspired and supported through a streamlined and efficient process. The Ambassador Program is managed in alignment with strategic priorities and campaign themes, ensuring all facets of the Program are delivered to a high standard, within budget, and with planning, reporting tools and evaluations maintained to a high standard. 1. Growth and maintenance of Ambassador Program

• Number of Ambassadors recruited and trained • Number of Ambassadors remaining engaged in

the program • Feedback from Ambassadors • Feedback from Ambassador Committee • Feedback from community event hosts

2. Program delivery • Identifying gaps and opportunities for Ambassador recruitment

• Facilitation of a safe and thorough induction process

• Development of training modules to ensure safe and accurate representation of R U OK? by Ambassadors

• Demonstration of Ambassador engagement throughout their time in the Program

• Visible communication of support services available to Ambassadors

3. Growth in representation and engagement levels at community events

• Number of Ambassadors secured for events including demographic and geographic measures

• Ambassador integration into mental health and suicide prevention community initiatives (where invited)

4. Deepened Program evaluation

• Short, medium and long-term outcomes evaluated with positive results

• Demonstrated ability to link strategic program direction with organisational impact measures

5. Ensure high level of customer service culture

• Feedback from external stakeholders • Feedback from team members

Responsibilities The responsibilities of this role include: • Planning, executing and measuring the Ambassador Program according to strategic and

operational deliverables • Evaluate, identify and develop opportunities to increase the impact of the Ambassador

Program • Regular liaison with Ambassadors in their efforts to assist R U OK? • Liaison with community stakeholders e.g. event hosts to adequately match Ambassadors to

speaking/attendance requests • Ensure a seamless process for communication between Ambassadors and community

stakeholders • Ensure all Ambassador requests are responded to in a timely manner • Provide opportunities for Ambassadors to communicate and network with one another • Recruit Ambassadors by identifying gaps and opportunities according to strategic and

campaign priorities • Deliver effective and safe resources and training modules throughout the Program lifecycle • Ensure adequate wellbeing strategies are in place for Ambassadors • Ensure the Ambassador Committee and its directives are demonstrative of

R U OK?’s commitment to lived experience inclusion • Clear demonstration of the Program’s continued improvement • Ensure planning and reporting processes are in place and maintained to a high standard • Embrace new technology to improve efficiency • Contribute to administrative tasks for Ambassadors such as thank you messages,

merchandise, etc. • Ensure a positive customer service culture is maintained with all internal and external

Selection Criteria This role is a permanent full-time employment agreement, commencing as soon as practical.

The successful candidate is expected to have skills, knowledge and experience in the following areas (please give a relevant example to demonstrate your capability):

• At least three (3) years’ experience in program development within the not-for-profit sector preferred

• Tertiary Qualifications in community services, counselling, sociology or equivalent field welcomed

• Mental health first aid training welcomed • Experience working with lived experience networks • Experience in program development including resource delivery, training facilitation and

impact evaluation • Ability to develop goals and plans that align with the R U OK? overarching strategic plan,

are culturally safe and appropriate, and reflect the diversity of the Australian community • An appreciation for the diverse range of R U OK? audiences e.g. culturally and linguistically

diverse, vulnerable communities, those experiencing sensory loss, etc. • Strong ability to communicate and develop relationships with internal and external

stakeholders • Strong presentation skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong organisational and project management skills with attention to detail • Ability to identify and appropriately manage risk and sensitive stakeholder issues • Ability to draw on team cohesion to prioritise, track and meet deadlines • Ability to support and encourage the team’s performance to achieve outcomes • Cultural fit with the values and mission of R U OK? • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and CRM use (Salesforce)
