From the Desk of Your Missionary I wish to thank the 85% of those who had confidence to vote for me. I promise to never do anything to violate your confidence. For those 15% who did not, I hope that over the next few years I can earn your confidence. I am thrilled to be your new Associational Missionary. I prefer to be called your Associational Mis- sionary rather than your Director of Missions for 5 reasons: 1) I do not (and will never) direct any church in the association to do anything, 2) I do not direct any churchs mission project, 3) I do not like the term, 4) I am a missionary (at the associational level) for your church, and 5) (Most importantly to me) I SERVE all the churches of the association. If the churches did not give to and help the association, there would be no position for an Associa- tional Missionary (Director of Missions) and the association would collapse. Happily, Pulaski Bap- tist Association has 31 great churches who care about the association and care about seeing boys and girls saved, and young men and young women surrender to full-time service at our camp. It is said that they did not build Rome in one day. Over the next few years I hope you will see im- provements in the association in everything from the Associational Office to the Camp grounds, from the phone service to our publications, and from the WEB page to our Facebook page. The Lord is coming back real soon, but until he does, I see BIG opportunities for our association in the coming months and years. As the world gets worse and worse, the Gospel (the Good News of Jesus Christ) gets better and better. The blood of Jesus Christ still saves and there is still room at the Cross. Our associations camp grounds can be used for church activities for people who would never darken the doors of our churches. It is a semi-neutral place for gatherings, meetings, BBQs, soc- cer, baseball, basketball, and all kinds of youth activities. Has anyone ever thought of using the camp to take their youth on an old-fashioned evening snipe hunt?I bet there are all kinds of snipes there in the evenings! I want to promise all our pastors, especially our bi-vocational pastors, that I will fight hard to not take you from your family time for associational business unnecessarily. There will be times when the association will need you to come to a meeting or other activity, but if we can conference it to your home (like Skype or FaceTime) we will try to do that. I am really excited about what the Lord Jesus Christ has in store for the Pulaski Baptist Associa- tion. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to serve you and the churches of the association. From the Desk of Your Missionary

I wish to thank the 85% of those who had confidence to vote for me. I promise to never do anything to violate your confidence. For those 15% who did not, I hope that over the next few years I can earn your confidence.

I am thrilled to be your new Associational Missionary. I prefer to be called your Associational Mis-sionary rather than your Director of Missions for 5 reasons: 1) I do not (and will never) direct any church in the association to do anything, 2) I do not direct any church’s mission project, 3) I do not like the term, 4) I am a missionary (at the associational level) for your church, and 5) (Most importantly to me) I SERVE all the churches of the association.

If the churches did not give to and help the association, there would be no position for an Associa-tional Missionary (Director of Missions) and the association would collapse. Happily, Pulaski Bap-tist Association has 31 great churches who care about the association and care about seeing boys and girls saved, and young men and young women surrender to full-time service at our camp.

It is said that they did not build Rome in one day. Over the next few years I hope you will see im-provements in the association in everything from the Associational Office to the Camp grounds, from the phone service to our publications, and from the WEB page to our Facebook page.

The Lord is coming back real soon, but until he does, I see BIG opportunities for our association in the coming months and years. As the world gets worse and worse, the Gospel (the Good News of Jesus Christ) gets better and better. The blood of Jesus Christ still saves and there is still room at the Cross.

Our association’s camp grounds can be used for church activities for people who would never darken the doors of our churches. It is a semi-neutral place for gatherings, meetings, BBQs, soc-cer, baseball, basketball, and all kinds of youth activities. Has anyone ever thought of using the camp to take their youth on an old-fashioned evening “snipe hunt?” I bet there are all kinds of snipes there in the evenings!

I am really excited about what the Lord Jesus Christ has in store for the Pulaski Baptist Associa-tion. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to serve you and the churches of the association.

Centerpoint

Originally Thanksgiving was a religious holi-day. Almost 400 years ago, the Pilgrims, some of the first settlers from Europe, set aside a special day to remember God’s goodness and to thank Him for taking care of them.

Thanksgiving should still be a time of thank-ing God for all His blessings to us, both as

individuals and as a nation. Admittedly, many people have lost sight of this and treat it as only a secular holiday—but when we do, we miss its true meaning. Thanksgiving also should remind us that we are dependent on God for everything—our freedoms, our resources, our families, everything. As the Bible says, “Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand” (1 Chronicles 29:14). This is one reason the Bible says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good” (Psalm 136:1).

We need to pause on Thanksgiving Day to thank God for His gifts. Most of all,

thank Him for the greatest gift of all—the gift of His Son Jesus, who came to

give us the gift of eternal life through faith in Him. Ask Him to come into your

life today.

The Reward of the Believer

Our God-given purpose is to glorify our heavenly Father. Ephesians 2:10 sheds light on the means by which we accomplish this: “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works.”

As believers, we are responsible to do God’s work. One day, we will stand before the judgment seat of Christ and be held accountable for our service. “Judgment” can be a daunting term. Remember, though, that Jesus redeemed us by His death and resurrection and paid the penalty for our sins. He took our pun-ishment, and we no longer face condemnation (Rom. 8:1). Christ’s judgment for Christians determines His rewards for each believer.

During this evaluation, God will test our actions. Scripture passage likens this to proving the quality of a

substance through fire (1 Corinthians 3:12-15). Once the fire burns away impure motives and worthless

tasks, the Lord will give recompense for that which remains.
