Iain Perkins was well known by many in the area as a dedicated family man, PE teacher and as a very able sportsman. A most convivial man, he was well liked and well respected by all those that knew him. The above event on the anniversary of Iain's sad death has been organised to commemorate and celebrate his life whilst also raising much needed funds for his widow Jill’s chosen charity - the British Heart Foundation. You are cordially invited to be part of what will be a fitting memorial for a great man.

We are looking for participants as golf players, non golfers and sponsors.

Golf Players: South Cerney Golf Club have kindly given us exclusive use of the course which enhances the profits made for the charity. The format will be teams of four - although individuals are welcome and will be allocated a team on the day. Players will compete for longest drive and nearest the pin plus other fun challenges that may incur prizes (or fines). The cost per player will be £35 which includes coffee and bacon roll on arrival at 9.30am, 18 holes of golf and the set meal after the game.

Non golfers: Those with little or no golfing experience are very welcome from 2.00pm for a putting competition and/or a game of boules. The cost for Non-Golfers who would like to order food is £12.00.

Sponsors: can have a hole dedicated to their organisation which includes being featured in the programme and on your selected tee. Advertising space will also be made available in the programme. Individuals and companies may also donate prizes for the raffle and auction or simply money for the charity.

Celebration: Following the competitions prize giving at 3.00pm we shall celebrate Iain’s life with anecdotal memories and stories. We shall be glad to receive any pictures of Iain in electronic format – please send to [email protected] whilst preserving the “what goes on tour” principal.

The set meal of Boeuf Bourguignon et Riz followed by Fromage et biscuits will also be available from 3.00 pm. Vegetarian or special dietary requirements are also available.

There will then be a RAFFLE with “top of the range” prizes plus an AUCTION of the even higher valued items that have been kindly donated by sponsors and individuals.

To participate please complete the attached form and submit with payment as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as places are limited. The cut-off dates for entries are shown on the form.

We look forward to seeing many old and new friends on the day which is bound to be great fun in true Iain tradition.

Sponsors information

Iain Perkins was well known by many in the area as a dedicated family man, PE teacher and as a very able sportsman. A most convivial man, he was well liked and well respected by all those that knew him. The above event on the anniversary of Iain's sad death has been organised to commemorate and celebrate his life whilst also raising much needed funds for his widow Jill’s chosen charity - the British Heart Foundation. You are cordially invited to be part of what will be a fitting memorial for a great man.

This event is attracting people from many walks of life who came into contact with Iain through college and his subsequent teaching career in Swindon or through his participation and support given to many sporting clubs in the area – particularly Cirencester Rugby Club.

Sponsors can therefore expect to be publicised to a wide cross section of potential clients and other business from both the signage on the golf course and the printed programme for the day. There will also be links from the Iain Perkins Memorial Facebook page and other social media platforms. The local Gloucestershire and Swindon area press and media have been advised and we are confident that several organisations will want to be represented.

Sponsorship deals are already available for :

Each of the 18 holes with signage on the tee and listing in the programme Programme advertisements using your artwork and colour scheme Provision of raffle and auction prizes with programme listing and announcements Simple donations with or without programme listing

The organisers are all volunteering their time and resources to run this event so that all the profits generated can be donated to the British Heart Foundation.

Interested ? Then please send your contact details to the mail address below and we shall be happy to discuss your needs.
