Held the leading technical role within a larger U.S.-Serbian cross-venture (now defunct), that was engaged in off-shore software development and industrial automation and consulting, on the emerging Serbian energy market.
The role required me to lead, coordinate and manage the company’s off-shore software development in Serbia. This included leading, coordinating and overseeing the overall product development process.
Additionally, the position required a persistent strengthening of the company-wide interactions at all levels: with Serbian and American customers, the U.S.-based management, engineering, and finance… all this to ensure that our objectives, results and accountability were congruent with the overall corporate direction.
Though the primary duties consisted of providing the technical leadership and support to not only the group of high-profile consultants and engineers, but also a Director of Operation, the common effort demanded bearing multiple responsibilities and a myriad of daily activities. The later included:
Working closely with the senior (U.S.) management to understand the company’s strategic technical objectives for Belgrade branch, and developing metrics and reports to measure actual progress against those objectives;
Gathering product requirements (from the U.S. HQ.); Prioritizing executive and customer requests, timelines and project ROI; Writing high-level technical specs and project documentation; Hiring, inspiring, coaching, and evaluating the performance of the R&D team; Championing, communicating, and taking personal accountability of the team's
success; Ensuring rigorous quality control in all the phases of development process; Overseeing accuracy of data gathered for purpose of reporting project quota
attainment, trending, and forecast; Creating weekly and monthly all-inclusive project-status, progress and project-
budgeting reports; Assisting attorneys, business partners, helping with VIP-visits, etc.
