“The Search” What is this journey in between the event
we call “birth” and the one we call “death”? Is the journey taking you
somewhere, or are you leading yourself to some kind of destination – a destination
that could extend beyond your last breath? What do you want from your life during the in between? The questions are
there. And, the answers are too. https://watch.formed.org/the-search-may-

MINISTRY AT HOME RESOURCES
The “A” Word
We plan to host a gathering for those who want to learn about the “A” word (“Annulment”). This can bring about healing and happiness, which allows a person to return to a sacramental life. If you or someone you know are interested in attending, please contact the office at (361) 564-2893.
Check here for Masses and resources from our diocese.
Dispensation from Sunday obligation
is extended through May.
We strongly encourage people with any one of the following conditions to continue to participate from home.
Namely, those with heart conditions, diabetes, overweight, have an underlying health condition, a weakened immune
system, over the age of 65, or anyone that has been exposed to the virus in the past two weeks should not attend.
To be clear, for the time being no one is under any obligation to attend mass this month and we will continue to post Sunday Mass on YouTube throughout May. We encourage those who are unable to attend Sunday Mass, to attend one of our regularly scheduled daily masses to receive Holy Communion.
For those who are not in an at-risk category and choose to return to Sunday Mass we ask that you regularly monitor your own health and be extremely prudent in your decision to return.

For a while it was very fashionable to own pigs as pets. The publicity surrounding these creatures informed us that they were—contrary to their popular image—very clean animals, and also quite smart. Sad to say, sheep will most likely never enjoy this sort of domestic vogue. They are neither clean nor smart and are largely defenseless when left on their own, even in large numbers. The biblical image of us as the flock of sheep is not a particularly flattering one. Sheep without a shepherd are truly sad, because they most likely will perish either from their inability to fend for themselves or from their lack of defenses against predators. Placing ourselves in the heart of this unflattering image can reinforce our faith. Until we come to a profound realization of how much we need a shepherd, we cannot appreciate how deeply blessed we are to have been given a Shepherd, one who laid down his life for us and was raised to life eternal in the Spirit, so he might guide us and we might follow him in faith forever.
