Premier’s Spelling Bee Congratulations to Tahlia, who came second in the Premier’s Spelling Bee Regional Championships on Monday. What a great effort. Drought Relief So far we have received very few donations for our “adopt a backpack” project for Coonamble PS. Many other schools have been busy collecting and donating to various drought relief causes and it would be great for our school to show some support. If you are able to help out please send in any unwanted usable backpacks (these can be second hand but should be clean and in good working order), new toys, non-perishable food items, pet food, toiletries or other non-perishable groceries. It might be good to place one extra thing in the trolley the next time you do your shopping. We won’t be sending the packs out to Coonamble until Term 4 so we still have time. Canteen There will be NO CANTEEN this Friday 7 September or next Friday 14 September 2018. Musical Please ensure your child brings their costume, clearly marked with their name, to school by this Friday 7 September 2018. There will be a full dress rehearsal on Monday at the school.

P&C Musical Canteen The P&C will be having a sausage sizzle at the Thursday night performance plus drinks will be for sale. On Friday cakes, sandwiches, tea & coffee will be available, a menu is attached for the Friday performance. The P&C are asking for donations of cakes or slices to be sold at the performance. Presentation Survey Thank you to those families that gave their opinion on the Presentation survey. We have considered all responses and decided for 2018 we will maintain the evening presentation celebration. As there were very few responses we may revisit this in 2019. Sesquicentenary There will be a sesquicentenary meeting on the 12th of September. Do you have any old memorabilia that you would be willing to have displayed at the school during our sesquicentennial celebrations? This could be old uniforms, trophies, your school books, photographs notes and documents. Anything that will give people a view of Lawrence Public School in the years that you attended. We would love to hear from families that attended our fabulous school. We will take excellent care of anything donated and ensure it is returned at the conclusion of the celebration. Items can be left at the office, or digital copies can be emailed to the school email: lawrence-p.school@det.nsw.edu.au CSI 2019 An information night for 2019 CSI will be held at South Grafton HS library on Thursday 6 September at 5:30pm. Assembly Congratulations to the following students who received Merit Certificates and Incentive Awards at our assembly on Tuesday 4 September K/1— Lilly-Jade & Declan. 2/3/4— Fletcher, Olivia S & Kota.. 4/5/6—Olivia B, Georgie & Kiya Silver Award — Gabby C The audience was entertained by the 4/5/6 class. Swim Scheme An Expression of interest for the Learn to Swim scheme has been sent home today with students in Years 2 to 6.
