Alumni Spotlight JACQUELINE AGUILAR ('02) Please explain your career – title, daily responsibilities, what you like about your job… I was admitted to the New York bar in 2011 and I have been an attorney ever since. Currently, I am a staff attorney at the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern NY. I am the intake attorney, which means that I answer questions people have and give legal advice. The topics can be anything from family law to housing questions to welfare questions. Before this job, I worked for Catholic Charities Community Services of NY as an immigration attorney for the Unaccompanied Minors Program. For that position, I worked with children who were designated as an "Unaccompanied Child" and would help them navigate the legal system and represent them throughout their legal case. I have always gravitated towards public interests jobs and I am grateful to be able to pursue my career. Earned J.D. from New York Law School in 2010 Staff Attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern NY How did Holy Trinity help prepare you for life after graduation? HT taught me the value of hard work. I remember going to college feeling very prepared for that journey and it extended to my career. I was able to tackle anything I put my mind to because of the lessons and values that I learned at Holy Trinity. Who at HT influenced you in a positive way? How did that person help you grow? Almost all of my great memories were from Band and having Mr. Jones as my teacher. I learned to truly appreciate music with him and became a better musician because of him. There were my English teachers, Mr. Lemos and Mr. Chorusey. I loved to read from an early age, but they opened my eyes to interpreting literature. Also, I can't watch TV shows or movies without thinking about the hero cycle and how it fits into the bigger picture (thank you, Mr. Chorusey). I had the pleasure of having Ms. Pellett for both for Yearbook Club and Calculus. She was patient, nice, and really supportive.

What is your earliest memory ofyour “Titan Experience?” Do youremember your first day of school? How did you feel? My earliest "Titan Experience" wasbefore I went to Trinity. Iremember as a student at CorpusChristi in Mineola, we went to HTto see the production of "Pippin." Iwas blown away by theperformance and told myself thatthis is the school that I wanted to bepart of.  Have you stayed connected to yourTitan classmates? How often doyou return to campus? Most of my closest friends are fromHT. Weddings, baby showers...theyhave mostly been Holy Trinityreunions!  Now, my little sister, Kathryn, is afreshman at HT, so I've had fungoing with her to the Open Houseand to Orientation to share in theexperience with her. Do you think your life would haveturned out differently if you hadnot attended Holy Trinity? Why orwhy not? My life would have definitely beendifferent. You wouldn't know bymeeting me today because I'moutgoing, but I was extremely shywhen I first started HT. At HolyTrinity, I came out of my shell andgrew into the person that I amtoday. It's where I met my dearestand closest friends and  just have allthe best memories. There's this feeling of home that Ihave every time I return to HolyTrinity. I love the fact that I cannow share that with my sister as shegoes through her own Holy Trinityjourney.
