Corman RR Norfolk Southern RR Indiana and Ohio RR CSX RR Norfolk Southern RR LIMA O t t a w a R i v e r Alternative 5 will rebuild I-75 as a six-lane facility, three lanes in each direction, with the following features: • All mainline bridges will be widened to accommodate the additional lanes and 12-foot inside and outside shoulders. • The curve near Hanthorn Road will be flattened to meet standards for a 70 mph design speed. • Continuous freeway lighting and high mast interchange lighting will be con- structed. • All interchanges will be reconstructed to current design standards. Local roads (Yoder Road and Dean Avenue) will be removed from interchange on-ramps. At the SR 81 interchange, the existing divided highway will be removed and replaced with an undivided highway. In addition, this alternative could include any of the following options: - North-south connector road (one-way, two-way or collector distributor road). - Bike lanes could be constructed alongside or parallel to the service roads, possibly in conjunction with sidewalks. - SR 65 could be improved through the city to Elm Street (SR 309). SR 309andFourthStreetaccesstoI-75ontheeastsidewillbeprovidedalonganimprovedGreelyChapelRoad.AserviceroadwillbeconstructedonthewestsideofI-75toprovideaccesstothenewinterchangefromFourthStreetandSR309onthewestsideoftheinterstate.

• All remaining interchanges will be reconstructed to current design standards. The reconstruction of the SR 65 interchange will relocate Yoder Road from theI-75northboundon-ramp.AttheSR81interchange,theexistingdividedhighwaywillberemovedandreplacedwithanundividedhighway.

Inaddition,thisalternativecouldincludeanyofthefollowingoptions:

-BikelanescouldbeconstructedinconjunctionwiththeserviceroadandtheGreelyChapelRoadimprovements.

-TheserviceroadcouldbeextendednorthfromSR309(KibbyStreet)toSR 81.

- SR 117 could continue west along the abandoned railroad line to intersect with SR 65 in Lima.

-SR65couldbeimprovedthroughthecitytoElmStreet(SR309).

This could alleviate some of the congestion and thepotentialforvehicularconflictsattheexistingSR309/SR117interchangebydivertingSR117traffictotheFourthStreetinterchange.

Inaddition,thisalternativecouldincludeanyofthefollowingoptions:

- North-south connector road (one-way, two-way or collector distributor road)-Bikelanescouldbeconstructedalongsideorparalleltotheserviceroads,possiblyinconjunctionwithsidewalks.

-SR117/FourthStreetcouldbeimprovedwestofI-75toSR65.-SR65couldbeimprovedthroughthecitytoElmStreet(SR309).
