I will use my knowledge and understanding of DSLR settings, Photoshop editing, composition, and the elements and principles of design. I will choose a word that represents my experience in England/Scotland/Ireland and crop/arrange my photographs to ‘write’ my chosen word. My Creative Process: 1. CHALLENGING & INSPIRING: a. Research alphabet photography online b. Review and evaluate your environment/surroundings to determine how objects/subject you could shoot 2. IMAGINING & GENERATING/ PLANNING & FOCUING: a. Determine your word that will represent your time/trip in England/Scotland/Ireland i. My Word Is: _____________________________________ 3. EXPLORING & EXPERIMENTING: a. Take test shots of objects/subjects that resemble letters for your word (you can use people, plants, animals, architecture, sand, water, sun, sky, moon, landscape, objects, etc. these objects/subjects can be found or made) b. Request teacher guidance during this process (if necessary) 4. PRODUCING PRELIMINARY WORK: a. Alphabet Photography

Summative Demonstration of Learning Goals:

Using the knowledge I have learned throughout the course, I will take a variety of photographs throughout my trip in England/Scotland/Ireland that resemble letters of the alphabet. I will use my knowledge and understanding of DSLR settings, Photoshop editing, composition, and the elements and principles of design. I will choose a word that represents my experience in England/Scotland/Ireland and crop/arrange my photographs to ‘write’ my chosen word.

My Creative Process:

1. CHALLENGING & INSPIRING: a. Research alphabet photography online b. Review and evaluate your environment/surroundings to determine how objects/subject you could

shoot 2. IMAGINING & GENERATING/ PLANNING & FOCUING:

a. Determine your word that will represent your time/trip in England/Scotland/Ireland i. My Word Is: _____________________________________

3. EXPLORING & EXPERIMENTING: a. Take test shots of objects/subjects that resemble letters for your word (you can use people, plants,

animals, architecture, sand, water, sun, sky, moon, landscape, objects, etc. these objects/subjects can be found or made)

b. Request teacher guidance during this process (if necessary) 4. PRODUCING PRELIMINARY WORK:

a. Upload your images to your computer and crop/edit in Photoshop to emphasize the letter only (be creative!)

b. Once each letter is made, attach your letters together to form one continuous photograph/word 5. REVISING & REFINING:

AWQ1O Culminating Project/ISU Mrs. K

a. Revise/edit/touchup 6. PRESENTING & PERFORMING:

a. Written Work: Artist Statement i. Explain/describe your chosen word, its significance to your trip, and the objects/subjects

that make up your photograph b. Presentation:

i. Share your work with the class! 7. REFLECTING & EVALUATING:

a. Critique & Gallery Tour – present your artwork and provide feedback to your peers

Artist Statement → Answer the following questions on your blog with your photo Photography Title: A) Photographic/digital manipulation techniques→ How these are used in my work and how they support my intended visual message: (Remember to use elements and principles (Line, Shape, Form, Texture, Balance, Rhythm, Pattern, Contrast, Emphasis, Value, Space, Movement, Colour, Variety, Proportion, Unity) in your written explanation.)

B) Reflect→ 1. What part of your finished project did you find most successful and why? 2. What part of your finished project did you find least successful and why? 3. If you had to do this project, what part would you change or improve on and why?
