PAGE 1ALN INDIA PRACTICE

For more than a decade, ALN firms have been assisting Indian multi-national corporations and international clients based in India to achieve their African business goals. ALN firms have represented clients and acted on a significant number of Indian deals in a wide range of industry sectors, coming to know the market and the key players well. Addi-tionally, our India practice can leverage on the expertise of a number of our lawyers who have close ties to India and hence are familiar with Indian business customs and navigating transac-tions. We have also established strong, long-standing relationships with Indian firms allowing us to effectively identify and resolve any issues as we work in conjunction with Indian counsel.

Our India practice team consists of lawyers who specialise in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, banking and finance, intellectual property, capital markets, real estate and tax in over 20 offices across Africa and the Middle East, enabling us to provide integrated cross-border advice on India-related transactions.

ALN’s regional office in the UAE, AC&H Legal Consultants, enables Indian clients to ‘Bridge the Gulf’ and access Africa because our team is strate-gically comprised of dually qualified lawyers from India, Nigeria, Kenya, UK, USA, and the Middle East, allowing us to effectively represent our clients on cross-border transactions from Dubai. This gives Indian clients the choice of either working with us from Dubai on their pan-African cross-border transactions, or simply using our lawyers to efficiently project manage their transactions across Africa using ALN.

ALN’s global outlook and ‘one-stop-shop’ approach to service delivery has allowed its firms

to become formidable regional players in various sectors across Africa, and especially on Indian related transactions. Some recent examples of transactions that we have undertaken on behalf of our Indian clients are:
