6. THE PROPOSED WETLAND FLOOR SHALL BE OVER EXCAVATED TO ACCOMMODATE 6 INCHES OFEVENLY-SPREAD ORGANIC-MIX SOIL. ALL SOILS EXCAVATED AS PART OF THE PROJECT SHALL BE EITHERRE-USED ON SIRE AS PART OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT OR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLY HAULED OFF SITE ANDDEPOSITED IN AN APPROVED UPLAND LOCATION OUTSIDE OF WETLAND AREAS.
7. THE EXCAVATED WETLAND FLOOR SHALL BE GRADED TO BLEND WITH THE UNDISTURBED WETLAND FLOOR.
8. ORGANIC-MIX SOIL SHALL COMPRISE LOAM BLENDED WITH PEAR MOSS AND/OR HUMUS AT A RATIO OFTHREE PARTS MINERAL SOIL TO ONE PART PEAT/HUMUS. SIX INCHES OF LOAM SHALL BE SPREAD ON THEWETLAND SIDE SLOPES FOLLOWING FINAL SHAPING.
9. SHRUBS SHALL BE PLANTED IN THE LOCATIONS SHOWN ON THE PLAN AT APROXIMATLY 8'-10' APART.
6. THE WETLAND FLOOR AND LOWEST ONE FOOT OF THE SIDE SLOPES SHALL BE SEEDED WITH NEW ENGLANDWETMIX SEED MIX SPREAD AT A RATE OF 1 LB / 2500 S.F.
THROUGH THE RESTORATION AREA.
7. WETLAND SIDE SLOPES AND ALL OTHER AREAS EXPOSED AS A RESULT OF WETLAND REPLICATIONACTIVITIES SHALL BE SEEDED WITH A CONSERVATION GRASS MIX. THE LOWEST ONE FOOD OF THE SIDESLOPES SHALL BE SEEDED WITH BOTH SEED MIXES.
8. UPON COMPLETION OF ALL ITEMS LISTED ABOVE, HAY MULCH SHALL BE LIGHTLY SPREAD ON THE WETLANDFLOOR, SLOPES, AND ALL OTHER AREAS DISTURBED AS A RESULT OF REPLICATION ACTIVITIES.

12. PRIOR TO THE ISSUANCE OF A CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE (COC), THE BIOLOGIST SHALL FIELDDELINEATE THE LIMITS OF THE REPLICATION WETLAND SO THAT SUCH LIMITS CAN BE FIELD SURVEYEDAND PLOTTED ON PLANS. AS-BUILT PLANTS OF THE REPLICATED WETLAND SHALL BE FILED AS PART OFTHE COC. REQUEST.
Erosion & Sedimentation Control:
1. BEGIN AT THE LOCATION WHERE WATTLE IS TO BE INSTALLED BY EXCAVATING 2-3" DEEP x 9"WIDE TRENCH ALONG THE CONTOUR OF THE SLOPE. EXCAVATED SOIL SHOULD BE PLACED UPSLOPE FROM THE ANCHOR TRENCH.
2. PLACE THE WATTLE IN THE TRENCH SO THAT IT CONTOURS TO THE SOIL SURFACE. COMPACTSOIL FROM THE EXCAVATED TRENCH AGAINST THE WATTLE ON THE UPHILL SIDE. ADJACENTWATTLES SHOULD TIGHTLY ABUT.
3. SECURE THE WATTLE WITH 18-24" STAKES EVERY 3-4' AND WITH A STAKE ON EACH END. STAKESSHOULD BE DRIVEN THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THE OF THE WATTLE LEAVING AT LEAST 2-3" OFSTAKE EXTENDING ABOVE THE STAKES SHOULD BE DRIVEN PERPENDICULAR TO SLOPE FACE.
4. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO MAINTAIN INTEGRITY OF STRAW WATTLE FOR DURATION OFCONSTRUCTION.

THIS MATERIAL CAN COME FROM NEARBY BORROW SITES, OR IS BROUGH IN FROMDISTANT LCOATIONS.

SEEDING AND PLATING: AFTER NEW MATERIAL HAS BEEN PLACED AND GRADED IT IS IMPERATIVE TOQUICKLY SEED THE AREA USING NEW ENGLAND WETMIX SEED MIX SPREAD AT A RATE OF 1 LB / 2500S.F.THROUGH THE RESTORATION AREA AND PLANT NATIVE VEGATATION SUCH AS SILKY DOGWOOD(CORNUS AMOMUM), WINTERBERRY (ILEX VERTIVILLATA FEMALE), WINTERBERRY (ILEX VERTIVILLATAMALE), NORTHERN BAYBERRY (MYRICA PENSYLVANICA), GREY-STEMMED DOGWOOD (CORNUSRACEMOSA), NORTHERN SPICEBUSH (LINDERA BENZOIN) , AND LOWBUSH BLUEBERRY (VACCINIUMANGUSTIFOLIUM ). THIS WILL ENSURE A QUICKER RECOVER, AND WILL HELP PREVENT EROSION.
