• Oy Karelian Trains Ltd (KT) was established year 2006 to facilitate the high speed services and rapid renewal of the rolling stock used in the revenue services between Helsinki and St Petersburg.
• KT is in charge of the financing, procurement and maintenance of the trainsets and is the owner of the “Allegro” brand.
• The trainsets and the “Allegro” brand is leased out to the Finnish and Russian railways for the use in Helsinki–St. Petersburg passenger services. The trains have substituted the conventional loco hauled passenger cars used on that same services since 1992.
