Project I: Retaining Wall
Purpose: To hold back soil on a slope from eroding and also
creating a flat surface for planting that is easily
accessible from the Beta House.
![Page 26: Allegheny Mountain School](https://reader031.vdocuments.site/reader031/viewer/2022021923/5a6d14aa7f8b9a04428b4b85/html5/thumbnails/26.jpg)

Project II: Stone
Walkway Purpose: A stone walkway
can handle more traffic with less erosion than a dirt
walkway.
Since the area in front of the hoop house entrance receives high traffic, placing stone in
this area preserves the walkway for years to come.

Foraging for Mushrooms
with Skip
Fellows received workshops both in cultivating
mushrooms as well as foraging.
The microclimates surrounding AMS and in the valley make an ideal foraging
location for the diversity of mushrooms that are able to
thrive here.
