You must pass the test AND the class in order to graduate from high school.

The reading comprehension passages will ask you to do the following: -select the main idea-judge the message of the author-select the most fitting title for the piece-identifying specific things about the passage-implying things about the passage even though they are not directly stated-identifying the tone or mood of the passage-identifying vocabulary in the context of the passage

The Composition part of the test will ask you to do all of the following: -fix basic grammar errors, especially punctuation, run-ons, and fragments-combine sentences to create better writing-infer ideas into the passage-pick the most appropriate title for the passage

You should use a highlighter to emphasize important parts of reading passages and key words in questions.

You should read the questions for a reading passage before reading the selection.

Eliminate the answers down to two so you have a better chance at the right answer.

Mark out the distracter answers in questions so you don’t get tricked by a “charming” answer.

Give yourself breaks without falling asleep by chewing a new piece of gum every half an hour.
