Out of 48 finalists, Sofia Treviño emerged victorious at the 2016 BISD Spelling Bee held Saturday, February 06, 2016 at Vet-

erans Memorial Early College High School. Sofia is part of the top 8 BISD spellers, advancing to the 28th Annual Rio Grande Valley Regional Spelling Bee. It will be held on Saturday, March 5,

2016 at South Texas Technical College in Harlingen, TX in the Science and Technology Building. The winner of the regional competition will advance to the Scripps National Spelling Bee in
