Directions, Lodging and Dining Information

From the South: take 101 North to the N.State Street Exit (Exit 551), turn left on N.State Street. Turn right on Empire Dr., next turn left onto N.Bush St. Just past the Elementary school you will turn right into the parking lot by the white bus stop, park at the far end of the lot. Then walk to 890 N. Bush St. See the map. From the North: take 101 South to the N.State Street Exit (Exit 551), turn right on N.State Street. Turn right on Empire Dr., next turn left onto N.Bush St. Just past the Elementary school you will turn right into the parking lot by the white bus stop, park at the far end of the lot. Then walk to 890 N Bush St. See the map Day 1 is held in the large conference room at the UC Cooperative Extension, Day 2 and 3 there will be field work in the sheep barn, directions will be given on 1st day of class.

Ukiah is just off Highway 101, If you are flying in we are 130 miles from San Francisco International and 136 miles from Sacramento International. I suggest using Sacramento if possible. The drive here is much better than fighting the traffic in San Francisco. Please check out these links for info on our county and town.

Best Western Orchard Inn, 555 South Orchard Ave, 707-462-1514…..$130 Close to freeway and places to eat.

State St. 707-462-8873… $60 Close to fast food places and a good truck stop for breakfast, lunch or dinner. There is RV parking at Redwood Empire Fairgrounds RV Park, 1055 N State St. 707-462-3884 There are other places as well, check google maps. PLACES TO EAT (check them out on Google Maps) Applebee’s Grill & Bar, 1201 Airport Park Blvd Stars, 115 S Orchard Ave Denny’s, 105 Pomeroy St Jensen’s Truck Stop, 1550 N Lovers Ln. In-n-Out Burger, 1351 N State Street O’Haru, 570 N State St Bottleshop Deli, located on site and I can fax in your order for lunch. And of course there are others not mentioned. Weather for May is usually comfortable. Might be a little chilly in the morning but can warm up into the low 80’s. We usually don’t get much if any rain in May. Parking around our building can be an issue. (Please see the map.) If that lot fills up street parking is allowed on N.Bush St. There are also a few spots behind our building.
