I am excited for the 2010-11 season, and I hope you are too. We begin every year tied with the other 29 teams in the league in every standing imaginable. Everyone begins at zero, and that is a wonderful thing. It means that we cannot rest on our laurels of past regular-season success, and it also means that we cannot dwell on postseason disappointment.

What it does mean is that we have to work hard and prove ourselves once again as we try to win a championship. I am ready for a memorable season, and everyone in the Capitals organization is happy to have you on-board with us. I have said it many times, but our season-ticket holders are our most valuable asset and are at the core of our success. We sincerely appreciate your continued support and commitment.

Once again, every game at Verizon Center will be sold out, and we will look to you – our season-ticket holders – to provide a home-ice environment that is second to none in the NHL. When rocking, Verizon Center transforms into an intimidating and difficult building for our opposition. We have had high-caliber exciting teams recently, but I also know that our fans helped propel us to a 59-11-12 home record the past two seasons.

We don’t underestimate your commitment, and you shouldn’t underestimate your impact. Together, we have turned the Washington, D.C., area into a hockey destination. Fans and media from all over the world come to our area to watch the Capitals and take in the Verizon Center experience. That is a testament to our fabulous coach, a tremendous nucleus of players, an organizational plan designed for long-term success and most importantly an incredibly engaged fan base.

As many of you know, in June my partners and I launched Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which includes the ownership and operation of the Washington Wizards and Verizon Center. One of the primary benefits on this acquisition will be our ability to control and enhance the overall fan experience at the arena. We have a tremendous venue, but our goal is to make it even better – the most fan-friendly, welcoming arena in professional sports.

If you have questions, concerns or comments throughout the season, we encourage you to contact your Guest Services representative. Your feedback is important to all of us.

See you at the rink.

The Washington Capitals are proud to offer Caps fans official team license plates in the state of Maryland and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

In Maryland, fans can order the Caps license plate for a one-time fee of $50. A portion of the fee is tax-deductible and benefits Washington Capitals Charities. To-date, more than $30,000 has been raised for the team’s charity.

In Virginia, thanks to hundreds of fans that stepped up to submit prepaid applications, a Caps license plate will be available in 2011 at Department of Motor Vehicles’ locations. The Caps Virginia license plate costs $25 annually ($35 for a personalized plate). At the milestone of 1,000 Caps Virginia license plates purchased, a portion of the proceeds from the annual fee will benefit Washington Capitals Charities.

Each loyalty level group will receive a customized lanyard, ticket pouch and lapel pin for the 2010-11 season. The items will be included in your season-ticket package. Each account will receive the same number of items as they have seats. To be classified in each group, the primary account holder must have had ownership of their season-ticket account for consecutive seasons. The Capitals will determine each planholders loyalty level by using the seat history information on their season-ticket account. In addition, for the 2010-11 season, each group will have their own dedicated night during the season when they will be recognized by having their names listed in-arena. Each group will also be listed under their loyalty level group listing in the 2010-11 Game Program and Yearbook as well as a listing in the Season-Ticket Holder Locker Room.

Ticket Forwarding is an inexpensive alternative to other overnight delivery and courier services and provides a secure alternative method to ensure your tickets get used.

Post Your Tickets For ResaleTicketExchange offers fans a legitimate and secure forum for buying and selling tickets online. The total integration of TicketExchange with Ticketmaster systems provides a seamless solution for overall fan satisfaction. Since only Ticketmaster tickets may be posted on TicketExchange, buyers are guaranteed authenticity and exact seat locations. When a ticket is sold, the original barcode is cancelled and a new one is issued, eliminating the possibility of counterfeiting. TicketFast® enables immediate email delivery of purchased tickets, saving customers the time and trouble of coordinating transactions. TicketExchange also uses built-in pricing regulations based on the locations of the seller and the event in order to ensure compliance with state laws that set the maximum allowable resale price per ticket.

Sell your tickets online via the Capitals Online Account Manager. Post your tickets for sale in a safe and legitimate way. The program allows fans to have more flexibility with their ticket plans, giving them control over which tickets they use and which they choose to sell in the online forum.

Once your posted tickets are purchased, the amount of the sale price is credited, less the 10% seller fee. The barcodes on your sold tickets are cancelled and new barcodes are issued. The new tickets are then electronically delivered to the buyer via TicketFast® for at-home printing using any standard printer without the hassle and delay of mail delivery. Prior to posting your tickets, you must choose to either:

1. Apply resale credit towards your Capitals account for your 2011-12 season renewal.

2. Request to have money deposited to a valid credit card or checking account by Ticketmaster when your seats are sold. Please allow 15-20 business days after the purchase to process and deposit your payment.

*Please note that any fraudulent ticket activity related to the resale or ticket forwarding of your season tickets will result in the cancellation of your 2010-11 season and 2011 playoff tickets.
