SCRIPTURE Philip L. StaggHear the words of our Lord Jesus Christ: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling,

One Lord, one faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.

The Challenge of CharityOurs is a church that dedicates our time, talents, and resources to important work for the less fortunate in the New Orleans community. But how do we, as Christians, really discern our call to serve those around us? Using the provocative thoughts of Robert Lupton’s Toxic Charity and the text of Matthew 25: 31-40, this class will use real-life situations to explore our approaches to service and charity.Led by Robert Edgecombe | through November 23 | Phifer Library

Who Wrote the Bible? This book by Richard E. Friedman is a fascinating, intellectual, yet highly readable analysis and investigation into the authorship of the Old Testament. Friedman delves deeply into the history of the Bible in a scholarly work that is as exciting and surprising as it is a good detective novel.Led by: Maureen Herring | through December 7 | Land Building, Lakeside
