Happening This Weekend

Dorothy Welch Christmas Concert Today, Sunday, December 2nd, the Dorothy Welch Choir will be holding their annual Christmas Concert at St. Paul’s Church beginning at 3:00pm. Put yourself into the holiday spirit by coming to hear some good music and support the choir!

The Parish Giving Tree

We continue our spirit of giving during this Christmas Season! Please take an Angel from the giving tree in either St. Paul’s or St. Peter’s, purchase the gift listed on the tag, wrap it and return it with the Angel on the top of the gift. Gifts can be returned under the tree no later than December 16th. Thank you for being an an-gel to someone who truly needs one!

Family Advent Wreath Making Today, Sunday, December 2nd you are invited to attend a “make your own” Advent Wreath Craft Event following the 10:30am Mass in the Parish Center! Come and con-struct your own Advent Wreath and learn about why we use this symbol during the Advent Season at Mass. A complimentary lunch will be provided. Anyone is wel-come to attend!

This weekend marks the beginning of the Church's new liturgical year! Advent (from, "ad-venire" in Latin or "to come to") is the season encompassing the four Sundays (and weekdays) leading up to the celebration of Christmas. The Advent season is a time of preparation that directs our hearts and minds to Christ’s second coming at the end of time and also to the anniversary of the Lord’s birth on Christmas. The final days of Advent, from December 17 to December 24, focus particularly on our preparation for the celebrations of the Nativity of our Lord (Christmas). Advent devotions including the Advent wreath, remind us of the meaning of the season. After Masses this weekend, please pick up a copy of our Advent and Christmas Devotional to help guide you on your journey to the Christ Child.

Advent Wreath Lighting Sign-up

Each week during Advent we will light the candles on the Advent Wreath, which represent the coming of Christ. We invite you to sign up to light the candles of the wreath at each mass during the season. Anyone is welcome: children, youth, seniors, families, etc. Please call the Parish Office to sign up in advance! Thank you for your participation!

St. Isaac Jogues Chapel takes a Winter Vacation On Sunday, November 18, Fr. Pat and Fr. Hohenstein celebrated the final liturgy of the season at the Chapel where around one hundred people were gathered.

Despite the snow and colder temperatures, the faithful were not deterred from attending Mass in this special place. The Parish is very thankful for the many hands which helped make the successful season at the lake possible! We are also grateful to

our Diocesan Shepherd, Bishop Scharfenbeger, for presiding at one of our summer masses. Looking ahead, we will gather at St. Isaac Jogues Chapel again later this month, as Fr. Pat intends to celebrate a Christmas Eve Midnight Mass at the Chapel. Keep an eye out for more information to come in the next few weeks!
