Please sit only in open pews and maintain social distancing. Masks are required for attendees over 6 years old at all times. Those who are not present physically will be invited to stand when able, and to be seated when necessary. Worship is participative and not passive. God has designed us to be physical creatures and sometimes our hearts and minds will follow our posture. Overflow will be in Trinity Hall at 8:30 a.m. and the Spires Room (across from the bookstore) at 11:00.

Merciful God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ; Who pardons all those who truly repent and turn to You. We humbly confess our sins and request Your mercy. We have not loved You fervently with a pure heart; nor have we loved our neighbor as ourselves. We have not done justly, nor loved mercy, nor walked humbly before You, our God. Have mercy on us, O Lord, according to Your steadfast love and faithfulness. According to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out our iniquity. The Old Testament Lesson Psalm 46:1-3

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.

The New Testament Lesson 2 Timothy 4:9-18

9 Do your best to come to me soon. 10 For Demas, in love with this present world, has deserted me and gone to Thessalonica. Crescens has gone to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia. 11 Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is very useful to me for ministry. 12 Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus. 13 When you come, bring the cloak that I left with Carpus at Troas, also the books, and above all the parchments. 14 Alexander the coppersmith did me great harm; the Lord will repay him according to his deeds. 15 Beware of him yourself, for he strongly opposed our message. 16 At my first defense no one came to stand by me, but all deserted me. May it not be charged against them! 17 But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the Gentiles might hear it. Minister: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People: It is right to give our thanks and praise. Minister: God of the ages, we praise You for all Your servants, who have done justice, loved mercy, and walked humbly with their God. For apostles and martyrs and saints of every time and place, who in life and death have witnessed to Your truth, People: We praise You and thank You, O God. Minister: For all Your servants who have faithfully served You, witnessed bravely and died in faith, who are still shining examples in a dark world, People: We praise You and thank You, O God. Minister: For those we have known and loved, for teachers and students, colleagues and friends, for parents and grandparents, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, for all who by their faithful obedience and steadfast hope have shown the same mind that was in Christ Jesus, People: We praise You and thank You, O God. Minister: Keep us grateful for their witness, and, like them, eager to follow in the way of Christ. Grant us grace to follow them as they followed Christ; and bring us, with them, to those things that eyes have not seen, nor ear heard, which You have prepared for those who love You.
