REMOTE SERVICES UVO IntelligenceTM puts an end to some of driving’s most common problems, such as losing your car in a crowded parking lot by accessing vehicle information remotely from your smartphone. Services include: Remote Start/Stop with Climate Control, Remote Door Lock/Unlock, Remote Horn/Lights, Remote Vehicle Status Check and Find My Car.8

SAFETY AND SECURITY UVO IntelligenceTM includes a series of safety and security features that assist when you need help. Automatic Collision Notification sends out an emergency call automatically if you’re in an accident. Enhanced Roadside Assistance and S.O.S. Emergency Assistance are both available at the touch of a button.

VEHICLE HEALTH You can keep on top of the status of many of your vehicle’s important functions – from your smartphone. Services include: Maintenance Alert, Monthly Vehicle Health Report, Auto Diagnostic Trouble Code Notification, On-Demand Diagnostics – even Driving Information that tracks your driving patterns.

LOCATION-BASED SERVICES Use the voice-activated Destination Search powered by GoogleTM 7,8 to find an address, or points of interest by category, quickly and easily from your driver’s seat, allowing you to keep your eyes on the road.

1. SIX AIRBAGS Rio protects you and your passengers with advanced dual-front,

side-impact and curtain airbags with finely tuned sensors to optimize protection. In combination, they help protect front seat passengers against head and chest injuries in moderate to severe impacts.

2. REARVIEW CAMERA1 When you shift into reverse, the screen automatically displays a high-resolution image from the vehicle’s rearview camera.1 It’s like an extra set of eyes, showing you what you might not otherwise see when looking in the rearview mirror or over your shoulder.

3. RAIN SENSING WIPERS When the windshield wiper system detects moisture, it automatically activates, helping maintain optimal visibility through a range of conditions. Standard on Rio EX Sport and EX Tech models.

4. AUTONOMOUS EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM1 Another layer of defence is provided by the available Autonomous Emergency Braking system.1 This intelligent system uses input from sensors to evaluate the seriousness of a hazard in your path. It intervenes automatically only when a crash is imminent, helping you avoid the collision or reduce its impact.

ULTRA-HIGH STRENGTH STRUCTUREThe all-new Rio features a uniquely engineered body that combines various high-tensile strength steel alloys. The body structure not only helps provide excellent crash protection – it also contributes to better driving dynamics and a remarkably quiet ride.

ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM ABS provides the foundation for Rio’s active safety systems. It helps provide greater vehicle control when stopping in difficult conditions, such as wet, slippery or snow-covered roads.

VEHICLE STABILITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM VSM controls brake force, engine torque and steering torque to provide improved vehicle stability during cornering or on loose or slippery road surfaces.

HILL-START ASSIST CONTROL To help keep you from rolling backward when starting to move up a steep hill, Hill Assist Control (HAC) automatically maintains braking pressure for up to two seconds after you take your foot off the brake pedal – enough time to shift your foot from the brake to the accelerator pedal.

ELECTRONIC BRAKEFORCE DISTRIBUTION EBD adjusts front-to-rear brake pressure to compensate for varying passenger/cargo loads and deliver more confident braking performance.

ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL Electronic Stability Control (ESC) monitors Rio’s response to your throttle, brake and steering inputs in tight corners and during evasive-manoeuvre situations. If the input and response are out of sync, ESC briefly takes over to restore stability through precise brake and engine-control interventions.

AIRBAG & SEAT-BELT SENSORS Special onboard sensors measure the severity of a crash impact and determine whether the front seat occupants are wearing their seat belts. Within milliseconds, this information is used to determine and trigger the correct level of airbag inflation to protect the occupants.
