Human Resource Development

SAARC training Program on “Techniques of Water Conservation & Rain Water

Harvesting for Drought Management” was conducted for 22 delegates from 5 SAARC

countries during 18-29 July, 2011 at CRIDA, Hyderabad. The countries participated in

the training are 1.India. 2. Bangladesh. 3. Bhutan. 4. Srilanka. 5. Afghanistan.

Workshop/Meetings Conducted

Twenty two stakeholder consultation workshops for research prioritization in rainfed area

were held at across 22 AICRPDA centres during August-November 2011. Honorable

Vice Chancellors, Directors of Research, Director/Assistant/Deputy of Extension,

Zonal/Regional/Assistant Directors of Research, Heads of various departments, Scientists

from AICRPDA centres, SAUs, Zonal Project Directors/representatives from seven

ZPDs, program coordinators/SMS from KVK, Joint/Deputy/Assistant Directors of

Agriculture/Animal husbandry, officials from the state line departments, NGOs etc and

farmers participated. Dr.P.K.Mishra, Project Coordinator (AICRPDA), Dr. G.R.Maruthi

Sankar, Dr.G.Ravindra Chary, Er.R.Nagarjuna Kumar from PC Unit, AICRPDA

participated in the proceedings.

Stake Holders Interactive Meeting at AICRPDA, Varanasi

Twenty two interactive meetings of AICRPDA Centres with KVKs were held across 22

AICRPDA centres for technology up-scaling. Zonal Project Directors/representatives,

Project Coordinators/SMS from 106 KVKs and Dr. P.K. Mishra, Project Coordinator

(AICRPDA), Dr.G.R.Maruthi Sankar, Dr.G.Ravindra Chary, Er.R.Nagarjuna Kumar

from PC Unit, AICRPDA participated. The technologies developed at the centres were

presented for on-station and on-farm research/demonstration at KVK farm and in KVK

adopted villages.

Four AICRPDA review meetings of 6th

QRT were held at UAS, Bangalore (13-15, June

2011), BAU, Ranchi (28-30, July 2011), RVSKVV, Indore (25-27, Aug 2011) &

CCSHAU, Hisar (28-29, Aug 2011). The Progress of work of AICRPDA centres was

reviewed by chairman of 6th QRT, Dr. H.P.Singh and other members. QRT members

also visited Biswanath Chariali, Rajkot, Solapur, Bijapur, Faizabad, Rakh Dhiansar,

Agra, Ballowal Saunkari.

QRT visit to ZARS, Solapur

Biennial Workshop of AICRPDA was conducted at ZARS, Solapur during 19-23

December, 2011. Dr.T.A More, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, MPKV, Rahuri presided over

the inaugural meeting of the Biennial Workshop. Other important dignitaries who graced

the inaugural session were HP Singh, Chairman, 6th QRT, B Venkateswarlu, Director,

CRIDA, R Siddaramappa and S.R Singh, Members of 6th

AICRPDA, CRIDA participated.

Participation in Trainings/Workshop

Dr. G. Ravindra Chary attended SAARC Program on “Techniques of Water Conservation

& Rain Water Harvesting for Drought Management” during 18-29 July, 2011 at CRIDA,

Hyderabad.

Dr G.R. Maruthi Sankar attended Workshop of AICRP on Chickpea at UAS, Bangalore

during 20-22, August 2011.

Dr. P.K.Mishra, Dr.G.Ravindra Chary, Er.R.Nagarjuna Kumar attended “Capacity

development for farm management strategies to improve Crop-Water Productivity using

AquaCrop” conducted at CRIDA during 18-22 October 2011.

Er. R.Nagarjuna Kumar attended training program on “Recent trends of Geoinformatics

in Land resource Database Management for sustainable Agriculture” at NBSS & LUP,

Nagapur during 15-28, November 2011.

Shri P.Prakash Babu, Administrative Officer joined in AICRPDA on transfer from DRR,

Hyderabad on 07-12-2011.
