The Rite of Passage which is a Citadel education leads to the wearing of The Ring, but more importantly, it prepares men and women for lives in which service to God, family and country are fundamen- tal. It is with good reason that the words, “Duty, Honor, Country” are placed fore- most before those who attend The Citadel. Our graduates find their ways into pro- fessions, politics, business, education, government and military service. Many have distinguished themselves and we hold them up as examples to which our young graduates may aspire. We honor and cherish the memory of all graduates who have died in defense of our country – every class has members who have given their lives that freedom might prevail. We stand on their shoulders and live free because of their sacrifice. We who wear The Ring are proud and humbled to wear it. We remember and retell tales of our own rites of passage and we honor those who will join us soon and in the distant future. Despite a few morning sprinkles,hard rain held off until almosteveryone had moved in. In an effort to make the CFA AnnualMeeting available to more parents, thedate has been changed to Saturday morn-ing on Parents’ Weekend.

Traditionally held on Saturday ofCorps Day in the spring, the CFA Boardof Directors felt more parents could learnhow the Citadel administration and the

CFA work together provide informationto, and support for, cadets’ families.

Parents are invited to the auditoriumin Bond Hall Saturday morning from 8 -9 a.m.

The CFA will elect new officers,receive a report on the state of TheCitadel, and hear from Mike Rogers of

the Citadel Alumni Association regardingmatters of interest to parents and alumnialike. Rogers’ comments should be espe-cially informative for parents of the classof ‘07.
