Catherine of Aragon

Henry wanted a wife who would give him a son to rule England in the Tudor times. They were married for 24 years. She got married on the 11th June 1509. Catherine was born in Spain, when the war started in Spain she was sent to England . She had a daughter named Mary however her son died of still birth . Before she married Henry she married king Arthur, Henry’s brother . When Henry was 12 he fell in love with Catherine but he could not marry her until the age of 17.She died of a broken heart because she fell in love with Anne Boleyn.

Anne Boleyn

Henry VIII liked how Anne was young pretty and witty. They used to send love letters to one another. They were married for 3 years. She was beheaded by Henry. She was accused of killing her uncle with the use of witch craft. Jane Seymour was [ lady in waiting ] to Anne,. This means she was her maid to Anne.

Jane seymour

Jane was lady in waiting to Anne Boleyn . Henry did not like Anne however he noticed Jane Seymour . Henry was attracted to her kindness and that she was not as bossy as Anne . They were only married for 1 year because Jane died of giving birth to there son named Prince Edward . She died two weeks after he was born . Henry created Jane’s grave that showed he truly cared for her . Jane had a park named after her it was ,called Park Seymour in Wales . She suffered from dihorrea . She had a coronation [a special ceremony to celebrate her reign as Queen.] When she died Henry said she was his first true wife. He mourned by wearing black for 3 months and did not marry for 3 years . Henry was buried next to Jane.

Anne of Cleves

Anne was born in Germany. Her marriage made a link between England

and Germany. At the time of marring Anne, there weren’t many women interested in Henry. Henry, at one point became so upset that he accused the Dutch of sending him a horse instead of a princess. She couldn’t speak English because she was not well educated. When Anne died she was buried in a tomb in Westminster Abbey. She died of cancer also Anne died 8 weeks before her birthday. Henry divorced Anne as she looked so ugly in Henry ‘s eyes.When Henry divorced her, she didn’t want to leave England. Therefore became Henry’s sister in name.

Kathryn Howard

Henry wanted to marry someone who would be faithful to him. She was nineteen and Henry 49 years of age when they met. Her dad was Edmund Howard. His mum was called Joyce Culpepper. She was her mothers tenth child. The night before her execution, she practised how to lay her head on the block. Henry beheaded her because she had a affair with Gulpeper [her cousin] she was accused of adultery and beheaded at the Tower of London 13th February 6 years after her cousin.

Katherine Parr

Henry married her on the 12th July 1543. Queen closet Hamlet Court. Henry tried to sentence her to her death but was unsuccessful, after Henry died, she married Thomas Seymour, the brother of Jane Seymour. Katherine married twice, when she was 17 years of age. Five years later she married J.Nevell – Barron of Yorkshire. She died by giving birth.
