Required Materials

¨ Loose-leaf paper
¨ Pencils and erasers
¨ Scientific Calculator (see next slide)

Class Notes
¨ Students are expected to take notes on a daily basis. Notes include definitions, formulas, procedures, and example problems. Make sure to take thorough notes, as this will be a good resource to help you prepare for tests and quizzes.
Homework¨ Homework will be assigned on a daily basis
and will be checked in class periodically. ¨ At the start of each chapter a syllabus of
assignments will be given to each student with the detailed assignment for each day. You are expected hold on to this syllabus and read it on a daily basis.
¨ ALL problems must be ATTEMPTED to receive full credit. Students should always check their answers using a colored pen and retry missed questions.
Homework
Tests & Quizzes¨ All Tests and Quizzes are designated on each
chapter syllabus and will be verbally announced in class. Completing, checking and redoing missed homework questions and reviewing class notes are the best way to prepare for a test or quiz.
¨ Students who are absent for a quiz will have the option to make up the quiz or use their test grade instead. Students who are absent for a test will be required to take the test during their study hall period. Students must discuss make up arrangements prior to coming to make up an assessment.
Quiz Drop Policy
¨Students who have perfect attendance on ALL quiz and test days will be eligible to drop their lowest quiz grade each quarter.
Grading
¨ Points can be accumulated from the following areas:
¤ Tests: 100 pts¤ Quizzes: 10-40 pts¤ Homework Assignments
Absences
¨ VISIT THE WEBSITE!
¨ If you are absent you are expected to learn the material from the day(s) you missed.
¨ Any assignments that were due during your absence are due the day you return; no excuses! You have two days to make up any missed work not including the day you return.
