Keep an eye out at your school for a special visit from the Prairie Trails Youth Services Librarians during the month of May! We’ll be stopping by the schools in District 111 to give a special preview of what summer has in store.
SHRED EVENT
Saturday, May 27th from 10am to 2pm
No registration required. The library will be hosting a community shred event! The Shred Authority will have a mobile shredding unit onsite to shred any documents you’d like to get rid of, including unbound papers, credit cards, and identification cards. Partici-pants are asked to limit the amount of materials they bring to NO MORE THAN TWO FULL BOXES so that everyone
has a chance to go through the line.

Contest: Emoji Reads
During the month of May, come into the library to try and match the story, made with emojis, to the book it came from!
Family Jam Tales
Every Monday at 6:30pm AND Every Thursday at 11am Children of all ages and their families Length: 30 minutes No registration is required for this storytime, but space is limited. Join us for a storytime designed for the whole family. A wide variety of stories, music, and more will be shared.

C2: Comics & Crafts
Tuesday, May 23rd at 6:30pm Grades: 4th and up (including teens through 12th grade) Length: 1 hour Do you like reading comics and graphic novels? Do you love Raina Telgemeier, Jarrett J. Krosoczka, and Jennifer Holm? Maybe you can’t get enough Batman or Avengers? Then this book club is for you! Each month we’ll discuss a different graphic novel and do a craft or activity to compliment the book. BONUS: when you register for the program you will receive your very own copy of the book to KEEP! This month’s book is Mae by Gene Ha.
Act Out!
Wednesdays in May at 4pm Final Performance on Wednesday, May 31st at 4pm Grades: K – 2nd Limit: 10 Length: 1 hour If you like to act, perform or just like being silly then this program is for you. We will be using the book We Are Growing by Laurie Keller as inspiration for a mini reader’s theater. Each Wednesday in May, starting on May 3
rd children will rehearse and practice their lines. Then
on May 31st, we’ll invite all of our family and friends to a final performance, which will begin at
4pm. Come join us!

Microsoft Office
Thursday, May 11th at 2pm This class will demonstrate functions present in most Mi-crosoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Ex-cel. The basic functions of each program will also be dis-cussed.

Registration is required for the following computer classes. Each program is limited to 10 PTPLD participants. Patrons may register up to one guest.
Introduction to
Microsoft PowerPoint
Thursday, May 25th at 7pm In this class, we will discuss techniques for producing pro-fessional-looking presentations using Microsoft Power-Point software. Topics include the following: creating and formatting slides, transitions, and graphics.

Beginners Introduction to Yoga
Tuesday, May 9th at 7pm This program is limited to 20 PTPLD participants. Patrons may register one guest. Join certified yoga instructor Marti Anne for this class that's designed especially for first time yoga students! This class consists of learning a series of gentle poses, postures, and positions while calming the body and the mind. You're en-couraged to bring a yoga mat; however, one will be provided for you to use during the class if needed.
Super Couponing with Jill Cataldo
Thursday, May 11th at 7pm No PTPLD library card required to register. This fast-paced, fun workshop combines the best techniques for following sales with using news-paper and Internet coupons, as well as coupon apps, to their fullest advantage. The workshop also involves audience-participation activities and interaction.
Breakfast Bingo!
Wednesday, May 17th at 10am This program is limited to 40 PTPLD participants. Patrons may register up to 2 guests. Celebrate the Spring season by sipping coffee, enjoying breakfast, and playing bingo! Prizes will be awarded to winners.
