Be reminded by these wise words from Herb Miller: “When we talk about supporting our Church with our gifts and resources we want our church family not to think in these terms… ‘We give because… we want to help our church or we give out of duty or we feel our giving adds meaning to our lives or we give out of habit or we feel guilty if we don’t give or we give because of social or peer pressure.’ Here is a truly faithful giver’s perspective, (it is ours here at Aledo UMC…) ‘We give because we feel a deep sense of gratitude to God for all we have been given. We give because it has become a part of our spiritual relationship to God. We give because we feel privileged to offer what we have and we want to joyfully serve. We give because we believe that God expects us to give a generous portion back to what God is doing in our community and the world.’ The season of Stewardship is a celebration of all that we have been given and the joy we all share in together as we give back to God. checK OUt the new LOOK OF the3rd Grade cLaSSrOOM

Thank you so much to the Wendt family for adopting the 3rd grade Sunday School classroom. They are such an intrical part of our Children’s Ministry. Through music, teaching and decorating. They have blessed the children over and over.

SUndaY SchOOLWe are so blessed to have such incredible volunteers teaching our children. They have seen a need and answered Gods call. Be sure to support and thank them.

We are looking for room parents for each grade. It means helping with whatever the teacher might need getting ready for class (separating take home sheets, getting things from the supply cabinets, sending home birthday or we miss you

cards, rounding up snacks for a special day, etc.) This helper will have the ability to continue going to their adult Sunday School class.

J.a.M. KicKOFFWe had a great J.A.M. Kickoff and Family Night! The Old Lady in the Shoe was a fun twist on an old story. The Spider Web was a great and challenging experience and the Euro Bounce was an overall favorite!

Thank you to all the volunteers that made this a great night!

reeL FUn wedneSdaYS!1st wednesday of each month

6-8 p.m.K-5th grades will watch a movie to learn and explore how it relates to their relationship with God. Pre-K will have a

special movie in the Nursery.

J.a.M.JAM will be from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on the 2nd, 3rd & 4th Wednesdays of each month and will involve children ages 4 years to 5th grade.

The children will rotate between music with a bible story, arts and crafts, and games. The children will be split into 2 different age appropriate groups. After music the 4 year olds will go into the nursery to do their crafts.

J.a.M. eXtreMe6th Grade Only

In the Rock House“Live It”, a Methodist Curriculum, will be utilized to help 6th graders face today’s issues with a real understanding of how their faith impacts their lives every day.

Live It will help them develop meaningful relationships with family, friends, and most importantly, God. It will also help them develop the skills needed to make godly decisions in today’s world.

We have made a lot of exciting new changes!

Please always keep Children’s Ministries and all its volunteers in your prayers. It is truly God’s work we are called to and blessed to be a part of. Please prayerfully consider your part in this ministry.

10 A.M. ADULT SUNDAY MORNING OPPORTUNITIES: it’s Okay to be human . . .

We’re brought up to be strong, self-sufficient, independent people. We tend to think that if we ask for help, it is a sign of weakness. So we try to keep our struggles hidden, stuffed deep inside. However, that’s not God’s plan. Galatians 6:2 says “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” God wants us to care for others--and allow others to care for us in our time of need.

If you’re sad or struggling inside, don’t suffer alone. Ask for help. We’ve got a team of Stephen Ministers who are ready to listen, care, encourage, pray, and help you through a tough time. Men are matched with men, and women with women. (It’s completely confidential too!) To request a Stephen Minister please contact DeAndrea in the church office or at [email protected].
