NOTICE TO FOREIGN EXHIBITORS FROM THE CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB
Effective Jan/1992 all dogs that are foreign-born and foreign-owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) events will no longer require a CKC registration number but will require an ERN - Event Registration Number. This ERN does not register a dog with CKC for breeding purposes as defined in the Animal Pedigree Act but rather enables a foreign-owned dog to be awarded titles by the Canadian Kennel Club. Each dog must have its own number
To obtain an ERN (Event Registration Number) simply do the following:
1. Send a photocopy of the dog’s registration certificate reflecting current ownership with a written request for an ERN number
2. Include payment of $55.85 Canadian Dollars plus 13% Ontario HST
3. Accounts may be paid with personal or business cheque, money order, Visa or MasterCard. For Non CKC Members please note that if paying by cheques, the cheque must be certified. Non residents of Canada note that discounted cheques or money orders will not be accepted due to fluctuating currency rates.
4. Provide your full return address
5. Faxed request will be accepted. Please ensure that your Visa or MasterCard number is legible and you have to include your expiry date and signature.
A CKC ERN registration form can be downloaded from the CKC website: http://www.ckc.ca
An ERN number must be obtained within 30 days of entering a CKC event, awards or scores to avoid cancellation. If factors beyond your control prohibits this or present a problem, please send a written request for a 30 day extension. Planning Your Stay at the Summer Classic The Alberta Kennel Club Is thrilled to be holding our show at Spruce Meadows. Holding our event there comes with some significant
responsibilities for ALL OF US – volunteers and exhibitors alike. You will agree that this is not your normal facility and rules must be followed.
You must clean up after your dog. Please Keep Baggies With You At All Times. Discourage the boys from casually lifting their legs on fences,
posts, trees or shrubs. Think of this as your home for the weekend – we are sure that you wouldn’t allow it in your house so don’t let it hap-
pen on the show grounds. Failure to pick-up after your dogs will result in automatic expulsion from the show and the show grounds. This will
be enforced.
Our aim is to build a long relationship with Spruce Meadows and that will happen if we all work together.
Some Basic Rules:
1. Spruce Meadows does not allow overnight tenting (ie. no tenting on their grounds).
2. Parking will be allowed only in areas designated by the Parking Superintendent.
3. All rigs must have boards under all of their tires and generators – NO EXCEPTIONS! There is a Home Depot close by so if you need to, make the stop before you get to Spruce Meadows. (Shawnessy Centre, 390 Shaw-ville Blvd. S.E., Calgary, AB T2Y 3S4, (403) 201-5611).
4. Be prepared to bring levelling materials for your rig.
5. There will be absolutely NO dumping of grey water or sewage on Spruce Meadows grounds. There will be wa-ter available for a $20.00 service fee. Contact Alleyne Wyler & prepay at the Show Secretary’s Desk. Cash Only.
6. Water & electrical hookups are not available for RV units.
7. PARKING is a privilege extended by Spruce Meadows and the Alberta Kennel Club. Any person or persons who feel that they cannot abide by the Rules should consider other accommodations.
8. Abusive language, arguing with parking attendants, Club volunteers or Spruce Meadows staff, or any attempts to circumvent the Rules will result in loss of parking privileges without refund.
9. All parking is at your own risk.
RV Parking:
ALL RV RESERVATIONS MUST BE PREPAID ON-LINE.
There are no preferred sites. Each camping site will be 25Ft X 60Ft. Price: $105.00. Fee must be paid by entry closing,
July 7, 2010, 9:00PM.
If a group wishes to be together, ONE person must pay for all sites on a single form (ie. one form per group).
If you have a diesel pusher or large motor home longer than 35 ft, you have an option of parking on grass or pavement
(paved spots are very limited).
RV Parking and Indoor Benching must be ordered separately from dog show entries. Go to www.thedogshow.ca . Sign in - choose My Account -
choose Alberta Kennel Club - choose Enter Now - then choose Merchandise - then make your selections. You can enter your dogs later.—But get
your entries in before July 7.

Make the Summer Classic Your Home for the Weekend
Indoor Benching:
Yes, we have indoor benching available at our outdoor show! Take advantage of a great opportunity. Just think –
no tents to put up, no generator to haul, protection from the weather. If this sounds like your type of setup, here’s
the deal:
INDOOR BENCHING RESERVATIONS MUST BE PRE-PAID ONLINE.
Benching will be in the “K” Barn. All stalls are 10Ft X 10Ft, complete with electricity. Price: $50.00 per stall for the
weekend. There are only 75 stalls so act quickly.
Expect other events in the K Barn including Obedience and Rally-O.
Outdoor Benching:
Outdoor day benching will be available in designated areas only, on the main field, at no charge. You will be asked
to lower your tent at the end of the day. This is for safety reasons. Storms can come up very quickly at this time of
the year.
Looking for Longer Term RV Camping?
If you are planning on arriving a few days before the show or afterwards, Spruce Meadows has Full Service RV
Camping available close to the show site. Arrangements are made directly with Spruce Meadows not the Alberta
Kennel Club. Please check out their Accommodations / RV site: http://www.sprucemeadows.com/travel.htm
Thinking of Staying in a Hotel?
If you are planning to stay at a hotel in Calgary, be advised that Spruce Meadows is on the South side of the city.
Check our website for a map. We would suggest that you go to the following websites for information on Pet
Friendly Hotels in and around Calgary:
ALL EXHIBITORS WHO ARE PARKING RV’S OVERNIGHT OR BENCHING INDOORS,
ARE DEEMED TO HAVE AGREED TO THE ABOVE RULES THROUGH PAYMENT OF FEES.
EXHIBITORS BENCHING OUTDOORS ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO HAVE READ AND
AGREED TO ABIDE BY THESE SAME RULES.
OVERNIGHT GUESTS WILL BE ISSUED PARKING PASSES. PLEASE KEEP THEM VISABLE AT ALL TIMES.
Thanks for taking the time to read the above. We hope everyone has an enjoyable stay.
