Creating a strong bond will help identify and resolve community problems and increase the quality of life.  PROMOTING HEAL TY CHOICES ! BETHLEHEM Y MCA HEALTHY KIDS DA Y For the third consecutive year, the Albany County Sheri" ’s O#ce and Operation Safe Child participated in the Bethlehem YMCA Healthy Kid’s Day. Paren t’s were able to hav e their chil d’s information entered into the Amber Alert data base if ever there was an incident where their child was lost or missing. Child identica tion cards were provided which include a photo, ngerprint, and basic descriptors. A Sheri" ’s car was also made available for children $ and adults!  %  to get inside and see what the inside of a “real police car” looks like.

 PROMOTING HEALTY CHOICES !  BETHLEHEM YMCA HEALTHY KIDS DAY 

For the third consecutive year, the Albany

County Sheri" ’s O#ce and Operation Safe Child

participated in the Bethlehem YMCA Healthy Kid’s

Day. Parent’s were able to have their child’s

information entered into the Amber Alert data base

 AMERICAN RED CROSS

 The American Red Cross has aspecialized unit that providesservices to families of the ArmedServices with deployed familymembers. During April Spring

Break, the Red Cross madearrangements to take the children

of these families for daily activitiesto provide assistance. ACSOprovided a day of touring the various O#ces of the Sheri"  including Headquarters, CountyCourt, Albany International Airport, County CorrectionalFacility, Patrol, and 911. The tour was also able to see the inside ofthe Mobile Operations Unit and aquick ride in the WRAP.

WESTMERE FIRE DEPARTMENT FUN DAY

 AND RECRUITMENT 

  Westmere Fire Department took

advantage of the Firemen Association of 

The State of New York’s recruitmentweekend and not only provided information

to potential volunteer fire persons, but

to also host a “fun day” for the whole family.

The new fire house was open to the public o" ering activities for the family.The Sheri" ’s O#ce was also invited to attend this special event. Fire trucksand the Sheri" ’s Patrol car were on display for children to sit in andOperation Safe Child was there collecting children’s information andproviding identification cards. Where was the MRAP? Could not miss theSheri" ’s armored vehicle parked out front on display.
