Use and function

TheALMOalarmmonitorsareusedtocontrolpermanentlythedoseratemeasurementlevelinthelaboratoryandinproductionfacilities.ThesystemsconsistofabasicdevicewithLCDdisplayandelectronics,combinedwithoneormoreprobesandexternalalarmunits.Dependingontheversion,itispossibletoconnect1,3or6detectorstotheALMObasicdevice.Themeasurementvaluedisplayofthemulti-channelsystemsALMO-3andALMO-6isdisplayedindividuallyforeachchannel.Thestand-aloneALMO-systemscanbelinkedtoasuperiorPC-systemforcentralmonitoringanddocumentation

Special versions

AfterloadingTheALMO-1systemisusedbydifferentmanufacturersofafterloadingsystems.Inthiscase,themaintaskofthealarmmonitoristoindicateifthetherapysourceisopenedorclosed.ForthatpurposetheALMO-1ismostlycombinedwithGM-probetype18550.Generallytheversionwithintegratedbatterybackupisusedinordertokeepthesystemrunningincaseofapowerbreakdown.AnexternalLED-lampwith3levels(red/yellow/green)andahornelementshowstheoperatingstatusofthesystemvisuallyandacoustically:green=closedsource,yellow=error,red=opensource,red+acousticalarm=opensourceandopendoor.AdditionallytotheLED-lamp,somemanufacturersuseasecondLED-lamporamatrixtableauwithalarmsignalfortheareaoutsidethetherapyroom(corridororcontrolroom).TheseunitsarecontrolledinasimilarwayviatheALMO-system.Anelectronicinterlock- ifexistent-canalsobeoperatedviatheALMO-system.Suchafunctionisoftenusedassafetyfeature,particularlyinhotcells.

ALMO build-in version

Especiallyforthemanufacturersofhotcellsandisotopeproductionfacilities,wehavedevelopedabuild-inversionforthealarmmonitorsALMO-3andALMO-6.Insteadofthestandardhousingfordesktoporwallmounting,theALMOisintegratedinametaldie-castcasewithmountingboreholes.Thecaseisinstalledbehindthehotcellcoverorinthedoorofaswitchcabinet.ThefrontpaneloftheALMO-systemwithdisplay,operatorkeyboardandLEDsisembeddedintotheintendedcut-outsofthecoveringorthedoortoformaflatsurfacewiththeoutside.Thissolutionhasessentialadvantagesparticularlywithregardtothepermanentlyin-creasing clean room conditions, because the contamination risks and the extensivecleaningprocessforhousingpartsandcablingareomitted.

SoftwareAll measurement data can be displayedgraphically by the software for measure-mentanddatastorage.Thereforethedoseratemeasurementvaluescanbedisplayedinacurve,asafunctionoftime.Duringtheactualmonitoringprocess,thelamp symbols (green/yellow/red) can beshown for a quick interpretation of themeasurementvalues.
