Lead interdisciplinary team, take ownership for every aspect of fiscal operation and service delivery, and collaborate with staff to attain a high- level of clinical excellence for in-state and out-of-state patients. Maintain 24/7 oversight of the entire building while managing 38 RN's including four RN Specialists and two RN Managers, as well as 77 Mental Health Technicians, that includes ten Mental Health Lead Techs, and two Mental Health Tech Managers. North American Partners in Anesthesiology (NAPA), Charlottesville, VA RN MANAGER September 2015 – July 2016 (Contract End) - Transitioned from interim RN Manager to permanent, full-time RN Manager within first 3 months for NAPA, which provides all anesthesia, nurse management and nursing services to Charlottesville Gastroenterology Associates (CGA). Managed the daily operations of the practice which included 5 Gastroenterologists, 4 RNs, 2 Technicians, and multiple office staff. Created and implemented standard business operating procedures including Quality Assurance, Quality Improvement, and PAR levels for drugs and supplies. Ensured that all AAAHC guidelines were followed while working closely with Center Director on monthly/annual line- item budgeting for staffing needs, equipment, supplies, medications, and staff training. Consulted and discussed patient issues with the anesthesiologist before each scheduled procedure (22 patients per day). Pre-screened all patient assessments one week prior to scheduled procedures. Performed clinical nursing in both pre- and post-op (phase 2 recovery). Effectively managed center and ensured uninterrupted continuum of quality patient care during large-scale construction/expansion of a second procedure room and four additional pre-/post-op rooms, as well as a new nurses’ station. Professional Experience Continued… ARMOR Emergency Contract Services - Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women, Troy, VA HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR March - July 2015 - Managed a monthly budget in excess of $1.3M in a large hospital for female inmates in this maximum security prison -- the largest in Virginia with approx. 1,254 inmates and 129 medical staff.

Oversaw administration of a 32-bed hospital with isolation cells and open wards and a 45-bed licensed mental health hospital, as well as an on-site Optometry, Ophthalmology, and Cardiology units, X-ray, Dental, Dialysis/Renal, Physical Therapy, GI, Orthopedic, Ultrasound, and Telemedicine.

Analyzed and developed departmental budgets, monitor and control expenditures, review and recommend changes to budget authorizations.

During the first 30 days of employment: Decreased the pharmacy medication budget overrun of more than $49k with a (43.51%) variance, down to a $3,700

under-run (with a 3.95% variance), as well as reducing multiple line-item overruns.

Implemented effective communication and team building systems that hold line staff, nurses, providers, and security personnel accountable including mandatory daily morning managers meeting, weekly providers meeting, weekly all staff meeting, and weekly security management/medical management meeting.

Became the primary liaison between upper management security staff (i.e., three wardens, all the captains, lieutenants, sergeants, and medical staff/providers).

Responsible for an 8% reduction in agency nurse dependency by encouraging the HR department to begin a rigorous campaign to hire more permanent ARMOR staff.

During the first 60 days of employment: Increased daily staff training with the implementation of effective corrective action plans which saw a drastic

decrease in the number of medical medication error complaints from patients and their families, charting errors, missed medication reports, inaccurate medication ordering, etc.

During the first 90 days of employment: Created new hire training material for each medical unit along with a tracking matrix to monitor the progress of the

new hire and the effectiveness of the mentor(s).

Continued with measures to decrease medical budget overrun resulting in total expenses decreasing 10% with an overall total savings of more than $75K.

Improved all eleven CQI audit measures to passing scores of 80-90% for the first time since ARMOR started the emergency contract in October 2014.
