Smoke from the cigarette holder is added into this image as it is a common theme used in the noir genre. A black and white filter is also added and the red in the dress is lightened.

The red colour in the scarf is isolated and is the only colour in the picture as it shows the lust and danger of a femme fatale character and red shares these connotations. This is also done in ‘Sin City’ a well known noir film
