Manage various functional operations in Student Center Building in Wayne State University.

Faurecia Interior Systems India Pvt. Ltd Pune, India Role: Design Engineer (June 2012 – July 2015)

Designed sheet metal components with Stamping Feasibility for Automotive Seat Structures while team lead over 4 CAD engineers.

Created Engineering Drawings with GDNT.

Performed Stack up analysis using TCM and Enventive tool for sub-assemblies and complete seat.

Designed mechanisms with their simulation and study drawings.

Created mockup prototypes for mechanisms.

Created EBOM for sub-assemblies and complete assemblies and maintained all data in PLM.

Performed seat packaging, safety regulation study and human ergonomics study for complete seat.

Created proposals for mechanisms, single parts and assemblies.

Managed complete responsibility for all communication between the customer and India design team on daily basis. This communication mainly involved design validation, drawing reviews, forecast of timeline, highlighting issues in design and proposing new solutions and Review of CAD quality.

Participated in 3 months of training for injection molded plastic parts. This training includes basics of injection molding, knowledge of core, cavity, slider and lifter, design principles, Best practices during design of plastic components, Catia interface for plastic design module and selection of material.

Design principle includes: How to maintain uniform wall thickness. How to avoid shrink marks, warpage and box effect. Design of joinery features like bosses, welding cylinder, ribs, snaps and live hinges. Selection of optimum draft angle. How to remove undercut, Design of parting line and water drop effect.

This training also included sample projects for Door panel and Glove box. Door panel: design of map pocket, cup holder, arm rest, speaker grill and carrier. Glove box: design of bin, outer lid, inner lid.
