AIRFIX INSTRUCTION SHEET STYLES FOR 1/32 CARS compiled by John Zybrands, updated 1 February, 2017.n

This document attempts to describe the different styles of instruction sheets that have been issued for the

assembly of AIRFIX’s 1/32 scale car kits.

1st STYLE OF INSTRUCTION SHEET

This written only in English, 1950’s style of assembly instructions contained technical information, 1 exploded

assembly drawing, written step-by-step positioning of parts and a written painting scheme. The cars, vintage

and modern, being series 1, had their instructions printed on the reverse side of the Type 1 and Type 2

headers. Some instructions for the modern cars contained additional historical/technical information and

photographs. The 1910 B-Type Bus had a larger 1 page sheet that folded into the box. This page included the

AIRFIX logo above the name of the kit. The AIRFIX lettering was printed in white bold letters on a black angled

ribbon. This style was printed up to 1962. Some of the vintage cars have 2 different instructions with the

earlier one having no painting instructions while the latter one has painting instructions. The latter version is

listed here.

1911 Rolls Royce Laudaulette (1315): This kit was released in 1955. The instructions consisted of technical

information, 1 exploded assembly drawing, 17 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a written

suggested colour scheme. The cut-out paper number plate was RR1911.

1905 Rolls Royce (1336): This kit was released in 1956. The instructions consisted of technical information, 1

exploded assembly drawing, 24 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a written suggested colour

scheme. The cut-out paper number plate was RR1905.

1910 Ford Model T (1337): This kit was released in 1956. The instructions consisted of technical information,

1 exploded assembly drawing, 21 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a written suggested colour

scheme. The cut-out paper number plate was F1910.

1904 Darracq (1338): This kit was released in 1956. The instructions consisted of technical information, 1


scheme. The cut-out paper number plate was DAR1904.

1930 Bentley (1344): This kit was released in 1956. The instructions consisted of technical information, 1


scheme. There were no cut-out paper number plates, but the cut-out paper racing number was “8”.

1907 Lanchester Laudaulette (1394): This kit was released in 1957. The instructions consisted of technical


suggested colour scheme. The cut-out paper number plate LN1907.

1923 Morris Cowley Bullnose (1410): This kit was released in 1959. The instructions consisted of

historical/technical information, 1 exploded assembly drawing, 25 written step-by-step positioning of parts

and a written suggested colour scheme. The cut-out paper number plate was MC1923.

Sunbeam Rapier series 111 (M1C): This kit was released in 1961. The instructions consisted of historical/

technical information, b/w photos of the left rear roof, disc brakes and motor, 1 exploded assembly drawing

26 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers. The cut-out paper number plates were VAN75 and SR1961.

Austin Healey Sprite Mk 1(M2C): This kit was released in 1961. The instructions consisted of historical/

technical information, 1 exploded assembly drawing, 32 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a written

suggested colour scheme. The cut-out paper number plates were SPRITE and VAN76

Renault Daulphine (M3C): This kit was released in 1961. The instructions consisted of historical/technical

information, b/w photographs of the motor and brakes, 1 exploded assembly drawing, 26 written step-by-step

positioning of parts and a written suggested colour scheme. The cut-out paper number plates were RD1961,

ALK154, 173ALW and GBY163.

1904 Mercedes (78): This kit was released in 1962. The instructions consisted of historical/technical


suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. There were no cut-out paper number plates.

Morris Mini-Minor (M4C): This kit was released in 1962. The instructions consisted of historical/technical

information, b/w photograph of the motor a side view cut-away drawing, 1 exploded assembly drawing, 27

written step-by-step positioning of parts and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers. The finished model had a choice of grilles and bonnet emblems for either the AUSTIN 7 or MINI-

MINOR. The cut-out paper number plates were AMM62, VPH593, 59TPB and 659SPP.

1910 B Type Bus (471): This kit was released in 1962. The instructions consisted of historical/technical


suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The decal sheet and paper cut-out sheet

provide markings for the preserved bus “B340”.

2nd STYLE OF INSTRUCTION SHEET

In 1963 AIRFIX changed the style of its assembly instruction sheet. In the top left corner the sheet headed

AIRFIX in white and under this heading was worded CONSTRUCTION KIT in white letters surrounded by a black

rectangular box. The top centre and right side featured the words 1/32 SCALE MODEL CAR in a rectangular

box and the model title underneath. Features of this style include historical/technical information, 3 or more

exploded sub-assembly drawings with black numbers in a grey rectangle and sub-headings, written step-by-

step positioning of parts, a side view drawing of the car for painting, written suggested paint guide referenced

to AIRFIX paint numbers. Some of the modern cars have b/w photos of the motor/interior or extracts from

MOTOR road test. Interestingly, this style of instruction sheet was printed on Type 2 and Type 3 headers. This

style was printed up to mid 1969.

Type 2 header:

1905 Rolls Royce (1336): With ongoing production since it was first released these revised instructions

consisted of technical information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 25 written step-by-step

positioning of parts, 1 side view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to

AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was RR1905.

1910 Model T Ford (1337): With ongoing production since it was first released these revised instructions

consisted of technical information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 19 written step-by-step

positioning of parts, 1 side view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to

AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was F1910.

E-Type Jaguar (M5C): This kit was released in 1963. The instructions consisted of historic/technical

information, a cut-away drawing, test data from MOTOR road test 10/61, 3 labelled sub-assembly drawings,

30 step-by-step positioning of parts and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers. The cut-out paper number plates were VLY659, JAG63 and 3653H.

Type 3 header:

1907 Lanchester Landaulette (1394): With ongoing production since it was first released these revised

instructions consisted of historical/technical information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 24

written step-by-step positioning of parts, 1 side view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour

scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was LN1907.

Sunbeam Rapier Series 111 (M1C):

step positioning of parts, 1 side view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme referenced

to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plates were AHS1, MAW640 and an unknown one as cut-

out on sample.

Renault Daulphine (M3C): With ongoing production since it was first released these revised instructions

consisted of historical/technical information, b/w photographs of the motor and brakes, 3 labelled exploded

sub-assembly drawings, 24 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a written suggested colour scheme

referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plates were ALK154, 173ALW and GBY163.

Morris Mini-Minor (M4C): With ongoing production since it was first released these revised instructions

consisted of historical/technical information, b/w photograph of the motor, a side-view cut-away drawing, 3

labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 25 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a written suggested

colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The finished model had a choice of grilles for either the

AUSTIN 7 or MINI-MINOR or MINI-COOPER and bonnet emblems for either the AUSTIN 7 or MINI-MINOR. The

cut-out paper number plates were 59TPB, AMM62 and VPH593.

1910 B-Type Bus (571): A re-numbering of kit 471. With ongoing production since it was first released these

revised instructions consisted of historical/technical information 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings,

75 written step by step positioning of parts a side view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour

scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. A decal sheet and a paper cut-out sheet provide markings for

the preserved bus “B340”.

E Type Jaguar: (M5C): The instructions were a reproduction of the one printed on the type 2 header. The

instructions consisted of historic/technical information, a cut-away drawing, test data from MOTOR road test

10/61, 3 labelled sub-assembly drawings, 30 step-by-step positioning of parts and a written suggested colour

scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plates were VLY659, JAG63 and

3653H.

Ford Zodiac Mk 111 (M201C): This kit was released in 1963. The instructions consisted of historical/technical

information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 29 written step-by-step positioning of parts, a side

view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme. The cut-out paper number plates were

9937MD, 3652H, NOY814 and 9963A.

Volkswagen 1200 (M6C): This kit was released in 1964. The instructions consisted of historical/technical


view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme. The cut-out paper number plates were

JEC12, YLR841, 132WTW and an unknown one as cut out on sample sheet.

MG 1100 Saloon (M7C): This kit was released in 1964. The instructions consisted of historical/technical


view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme. The cut-paper number plates were

MG1100, 6029CD and 582FYP.

1914 Dennis Fire Engine (472): This kit was released in 1964. The instructions consisted of historical/

technical information, 4 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 98 written step-by-step positioning of

parts, a side view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme (and not referenced to any

paint numbers). The cut-out paper number plates were LF1914 and DU179. The finished model is based on

the restored CITY OF COVENTRY fire engine.

1914 Dennis Fire Engine (572): This kit was re-numbered in 1965. The instructions were as per kit 472.

Ford Lotus Cortina Mk 1(M8C): This kit was released in 1965. The instructions consisted of historical/

technical information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 27 written step-by-step, positioning of

parts, a side view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme (with no reference to any paint

numbers). The cut-out paper number plates were 9587MD, LC1965 and FYL360.

Vauxhall Viva HA (M9C): This kit was released in 1966. The instructions consisted of historical/technical


view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The

cut-out number plates were AYF247B, MLO384 and VV1965.

1902 De Dietrich (79): This kit was released in 1966. The instructions consisted of historical/technical



cut-out paper number plate was A2101.

1926 Morris Cowley Bullnose (80): This kit was released in 1966. The instructions consisted of historical/

technical information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 34 written step-by-step, positioning of

parts, a side view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was UD250. It is possible that this kit is a re-tool of the 1923

Morris Cowley Bullnose (1410).

Triumph TR4A (M202C): This kit was released in 1966. The instructions consisted of historical/technical

information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 42 written step-by-step, positioning of parts, a side


cut-out paper number plates were TR4A, MYU743D and 384KKX.

MGB (M203C): This kit was released in 1966. The instructions consisted of historical/technical information, 3

labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 39 written step-by-step positioning of parts, a side view drawing for

painting and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper

number plates were MGB1966, YPU817 and 419GPJ.

1910 Old Bill Bus (573): This kit was released in 1966. It was the military version of the 1910 B Type Bus

(“471” and “571”).

Aston Martin DB5 (M10C): This kit was released in 1967. The instructions consisted of historical/technical



cut-out paper number plates were SXN565, 860EPK and 4231PK.

Aston Martin DB5 (M206C): This kit was re-released in 1968. The instructions were a re-issue of “M10C”

without the header artwork. . The instructions consisted of historical/technical information, 3 labelled

exploded sub-assembly drawings, 23 written step-by-step positioning of parts, a side view drawing for painting

and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plates

were SXN565, 860EPK and 4231PK.

Porsche Carrera 6 (M12C): This kit was released in 1966. The instructions consisted of historical/technical


view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. There

were no cut-out number plates, but the cut-out paper racing number was “7”.

Porsche Carrera 6 (M207C): This kit was released in 1967. The instructions consisted of historical/technical


view drawing for painting and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. There

were no cut-out paper number plates, but the cut-out paper racing number was “7”. These instructions were

a re-issue of “M12C” without the header artwork.

Triumph Herald 1200 (M204C): This kit was released in 1968. The instructions consisted of historical/

technical information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 45 written step-by-step positioning of parts

and a written suggested colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The

cut-out paper number plates were 6003MM, 860EPK and 4231PK.

1912 Ford Model T (60): This kit was released in 1968. The instructions consisted of historical/technical

information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 33 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a

written suggested colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out

paper number plate was BE1480.

Ferrari 250 LM (M205C): This kit was released in 1968. The instructions consisted of historical/technical

information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 25 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a

written suggested colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. There were

no number plates but cut-out paper racing number was “2”.

Mercedes Benz 280 SL (M208C): This kit was released in 1968. The instructions consisted of historical/

technical information 4 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 53 written step-by-step positioning of parts


cut-out paper number plates were CJN1 and 280SL.

Jaguar 420 Saloon (M301C): This kit was released in 1969. The instructions consisted of historical/technical

information 4 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 51 written step-by-step positioning of parts and a

written suggest colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out

paper number plates were RLL675 and JAG420.

Vauxhall Victor 2000 Estate (M302C): This kit was released in 1969. The instructions consisted of historical/

technical information, 3 labelled exploded sub-assembly drawings, 57 written step-by-step positioning of parts


cut-out number plates were PA5, VE2000 and 714GGJ

3rd STYLE OF INSTRUCTION SHEET.

This style was introduced in 1969 and printed on the reverse side of type 3 headers or on a single page folded

inside a Type 3 box. This was the start of the multi-lingual and keyed icon assembly drawings, which continue

today. This style featured the AIRFIX logo in white italic letters on a black scroll in a white circle surrounded by

a black square in the top left hand corner. 1/32 SCALE MODEL CONSTRUCTION KIT and the name of the model

were written in the top centre of the sheet. Historical/ technical and assembly information was written in 3

languages, English, French and German. Icons for CEMENT, DO NOT CEMENT, TRANSPARENCY, ALTERNATIVE

PARTS, etc were drawn and printed on the exploded sub-assembly drawings. Each sub-assembly is numbered

and printed in black in a large white rectangle. Most feature a drawing with a written suggested colour

scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers.

1911 Rolls Royce (71): Written in 3 languages the instructions consisted of historical/technical information, 3

assembly icons, sub-assembly drawings for 3 assembly stages and a suggested written colour scheme using a

side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cutout paper number plate was RR1911.

1905 Rolls Royce (75): Written in 3 languages the instructions consisted of historical/technical information, 3


side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cutout paper number plate was RR1905.

1904 Darracq (72): Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted of historical/technical information, 2


side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was DAR1904.

1930 Bentley (73): Written in 3 languages the instructions consisted of historical/technical information, 2


side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. There was no number plate but the cut-out paper

racing number was the number “8”.

1904 Mercedes (78): Written in 3 languages the instructions consisted of historical/technical information, 2


side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. There was no number plate.

1910 B-Type Bus and Old Bill Bus (combined) (573): Written in 3 languages the instructions consisted of

historical/technical information, 4 assembly icons, sub-assembly drawings for 10 assembly stages and a

suggested written colour scheme using 2 side view and 2 end view drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers written. The civil bus “B340” and the military bus “Ole Bill” are drawn in the colour guide.

Volkswagen 1200 (M6C): With revised header art work and written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted

of historical/ technical information, 3 assembly icons, sub-assembly drawings for 6 assembly stages and a

suggested written colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out

paper number plates were JCE12, YLR841 and 132WTW.

1914 Dennis Fire Engine (572):

1933 Alfa Romeo (0201): This kit was released in 1969. Written in 3 languages the instructions consisted of

historical/technical information, 3 assembly icons, exploded sub-assembly drawings for 3 assembly stages and

a written colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was FGC409.

Ford 3-litre G.T. (M209C): This kit was released in 1969. Written in 3 languages the instructions consisted of


a written colour scheme using a top and side view drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out

paper racing number was “34

Ford Escort Mk 1 (M210C): This kit was released in 1970. Written in 3 languages the instructions consisted of


a suggested written colour scheme with no drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper

number plates were XLH649 and EEV589.

1911 Vauxhall “Prince Henry” (0301): This kit was released in 1971. Written in 3 languages, the instructions

consisted of historical/ technical information, 4 assembly icons, exploded sub-assembly drawings for 10

assembly stages and a suggested written colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was EI641.

Bond Bug 700Es (M10C): This kit was released in 1971. Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted of

historical/technical information, 3 assembly icons, exploded sub-assembly drawings for 10 assembly stages

and a suggested written colour scheme using an end view and a pictorial drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers. The cut-out paper number plates were BUG700 and EEV589.

Ford Capri (M303C): This kit was released in 1971. Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted of historical /technical information, 3 assembly icons, exploded sub-assembly drawings for 7 assembly stages and a suggested written colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plates were FLD345 and (the other not legible on sample).

Austin Maxi (M304C): This kit was released in 1971. Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted of


and a suggested written colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The

cut-out paper number plates were MAX1 and DXB5.

4th STYLE OF INSTRUCTION SHEET.

This style was introduced in 1972 and issued in the Type 4 and Type 5 boxes with the round logo. As the

previous series 1 cars could not fit into the series 1 type 4 blister packs they moved into the series 2 type 4

boxes. In type 4 boxes the vintage cars were packaged in series 2 and called HISTORIC CARS. The instructions

featured the AIRFIX logo in bold black ink on a white angled scroll inside a white circle in the top left hand

corner of the sheet. 1/32 SCALE CONSTRUCTION KIT and the name of the model were written in the top

centre of the sheet. The historical/technical and assembly information were written in 3 languages, English,

French and German. Icons for CEMENT, DO NOT CEMENT, TRANSPARENCY, etc were used on the exploded

assembly drawings. Each sub-assembly was numbered in a white rectangle. Some kits used a white triangle

which became listed in the icons as ASSEMBLED SECTION. Some use the sub-assembly drawings and/or a

separate drawing and a written suggested colour scheme referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. At least 1

instruction sheet displayed a sketch of the box art. This style was phased out in the late 1970’s and some

were issued in the Type 6 boxes.

1911 Rolls-Royce Laudaulette (02444-2): This kit was re-released in 1974. Written in 3 languages, the

instructions consisted of historical/ technical information, 3 assembly icons, sub-assembly drawings for 7

assembly stages and a suggested colour scheme using 3 pictorial drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was RR1911.

1905 Rolls Royce (02447-1): This kit was re-released in 1974. Written in 3 languages, the instructions

consisted of historical/technical information, 2 assembly icons, sub-assembly drawings for 7 assembly stages

and a suggested colour scheme using 3 pictorial drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers.

1904 Darracq (02445-5): This kit was re-released in 1974. Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted

of historical/technical information, 3 assembly icons, sub-assembly drawings for 5 assembly stages and a

suggested colour scheme using 3 pictorial drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper

number plate was DAR1904.

1930 Bentley (02446-8): This kit was re-released in 1974. Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted


suggested colour scheme using sub-assembly drawings and 3 pictorial drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers. There were no number plates, but the cut-out paper racing number was the number “8”.

1904 Mercedes (02449-7): This kit was re-released in 1974. Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted


suggested colour scheme using 3 pictorial drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers.

1910 B-Type Bus and Old Bill Bus (combined) (05443-8):

1910 B-Type Bus (06443-1): This kit was re-released in 1979. Written in 3 languages the instructions consisted

of historical information, 3 assembly icons, sub-assembly drawings for 37 assembly stages and a suggested

colour scheme using a side drawing and 2 end view drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out

paper NUMBER PLATE plate was LA9928.

1914 Dennis Fire Engine (06442-8): This kit was re-released in 1973. Written in 3 languages, the instructions


and a suggested colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out

paper number plates were DU179 and LF1914.

1902 de Dietrich (02442): This kit was re-released in 1974.

Porsche Carrera 6 (02407-3): This kit was re-released in 1973. Written in 3 languages, the instructions


and a suggested colour scheme using a side view drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. There were no

number plates but the cut-out paper racing number was “7”.

1912 Model T Ford (02443-9): This kit was re-released in 1974. Written in 3 languages, the instructions

consisted of historical/technical information, 2 assembly icons, exploded sub-assembly drawings for 7

assembly stages and a suggested colour scheme using 3 pictorial drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint

numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was BE1480.

Mercedes 280SL (02408-6): May have been re-released in this style as have seen image of box.

1933 Alfa Romeo 8c (02441-3): This kit was re-released in 1974. Written in 3 languages, the instructions

consisted of b/w box art, historical/technical information, 5 assembly icons, exploded sub-assembly drawings

for 13 assembly stages and a suggested colour scheme using sub-assembly drawings, a top view, side view and

2 end view drawings referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers. The cut-out paper number plate was FGC409.

Ford 3 Litre GT (02409-9): This kit was re-released in 1973. Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted

of historical/technical information, 4 assembly icons, exploded sub-assembly drawings for 11 assembly stages

and a suggested colour scheme using sub-assembly drawings, top view and side view drawings referenced to

AIRFIX paint numbers. There were no number plates, but the cut-out paper racing number was “34”.

Jaguar 420 G Saloon (03401-8): May not have been re-released in this style.

Ford Escort Mk 1 (02410-9): May have been re-released in this style as have seen image of box.

1911 Vauxhall Prince Henry (03441-6): May not have been re-released in this style.

Porsche 917 (02411-2): This kit was released in 1972. Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted of


a suggested colour scheme using a pictorial drawing referenced to AIRFIX paint numbers and decal location

with no racing number or number plate.

Beach Buggy (02412-5): This kit was released in 1972. Written in 3 languages, the instructions consisted of

historical/technical information, 4 assembly icons, exploded sub-assembly drawings for 8 assembly stages, a

set in a multi-page A-4 booklet folded to fit into an end-opening box. The cover page had in the top left corner

AIRFIX in bold black lettering, in white outline on a reverse angle scroll inside a buttoned black circle. The top

left corner of this circle shows reflected light to give a 3-dimensional appearance. To the right was written

1/32 SCALE MODEL CONSTRUCTION KIT above the kit name. Kit number was printed to the right below the kit

name. All the above were printed in a white rectangle. This style was written in 12 languages: English, French,

German, Spanish, Italian, Finnish, Swedish, Portuguese, Danish, Norwegian, Dutch and Greek. The booklets

English on an A-5 multi-page glossy booklet which fitted into an end-opening box. The front cover had the top

left corner featuring the button style AIRFIX logo and the top right corner featuring the oval and ribbon style

HAYNES logo in colour. Between the logos was written 1/32 SCALE MODEL CONSTRUCTION KIT with the name

of the kit written below. Below this was written HAYNES CONSTRUCTION KIT ASSEMBLY MANUAL with a cut

away drawing of the nominated model. These booklets contained historical/technical information, hints and

tips, icons such as ASSEMBLY STEP, CUT, DRILL OR PIERCE, DECALS, CEMENT, DO NOT CEMENT TOGETHER,
