When it comes to thermal management, for Eberspächer there

is only one solution: the solution that fits you.

For every requirement and every need, we develop your individual

system solution, ensuring you pleasant, performance-enhancing

temperatures in the vehicle interior – the whole year round.

At the same time, Eberspächer is a systems engineer and supplier

of customised AC applications for special-vehicle construction.

We are one of very few suppliers capable of combining air-

conditioning and heating elements in a single system, and

controlling them together.

Our own development engineers design individual AC system

solutions – up to and including functional and quality tests at our

own test centres.

Following an analysis of the particular case and your specific

requirements, we work out the system performance requirements

and develop an economical complete solution – using vehicle-

specific components if necessary. The diversity of the equipment

and components available, combined with our development

expertise, means that we can configure a solution for virtually every

vehicle.

INTRODUCTION

In recent years, AC systems have become an increasingly important

equipment feature, and nowadays are mostly standard in vehicle

construction.

Based on our customers' wishes and under consideration of the

prevailing climate and typical operating conditions, we design

custom-made, individual AC systems from a huge number of

components, for OEM customers, vehicle body manufacturers and

standardised retrofit solutions. Whether we develop a rooftop-

mounted AC system or a split model, for example, depends on the

requirements and particular circumstances.


Effective vehicle air-conditioning includes both heating and cooling

components, requirements for which Eberspächer, a specialist in

thermal management, offers effective solutions.

In some areas, all the elements of an AC solution must be simple

and robust, like the Special Applications sector, for example. All our

products – from the rooftop-mounted AC system to the operator

control system – are impressive in the very high quality they

offer, and are ideally prepared to work together smoothly. From a

multitude of components, we put together the right systems for you

and configure them for your individual requirements.

Eberspächer is one of the leading systems suppliers for exhaust

technology, vehicle heaters and AC systems for buses and special-

The Eberspächer evaporator range for air conditioning systems

designed purely for cooling.

The EV range is suitable for minibus, ambulance, commercial van

and special-purpose vehicle markets.

THE EV RANGE:

During the development process, quality has the utmost priority,

enabling us to obtain an ideal performance from a compact unit.

Our evaporators therefore deliver maximum power with small

dimensions.

The product range is suitable for flexible installation and

the powerful fans deliver particularly cool air for a pleasant,

comfortable environment. When in direct sunlight and fully

occupied, the Eberspächer air-conditioning system will ensure

perfect temperatures are maintained.

The evaporators are fitted with a thermostatic expansion valve and

most are also available with a TEV that has an integrated solenoid

shut-off valve (TXV. + SOL.).

The Eberspächer range of evaporators for cooling and heating

options.

The EV-H range is suitable for the minibus, ambulance, commercial

van and special-purpose vehicle markets.

THE HVAC RANGE:

Combined with the impressive cooling performance of the EV range,

the additional integrated water convector delivers warmth to create

the perfect environment in all weather conditions.

Fully dehumidified air ensures clear windows and pleasant, damp-

free conditions.

Combined with an Eberspächer coolant heater our HVAC evaporators

deliver perfect temperatures all year round. The HVAC evaporators

are fitted with a thermostatic expansion valve and most are also

available with a TEV that has an integrated solenoid shut-off valve

(TXV. + SOL.).

The AC system is easy to manage using the automatic control

system.

The evaporator and condenser, which are the cooling components

in our rooftop-mounted AC systems, are built into a single compact

unit. These systems are ideal if interior installation space is lacking

but rooftop-mounted installation is feasible.

Ventilation, air conditioning, heating, refrigeration and engine

cooling on numerous on-road and off-road vehicles.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE USE OF CENTRIFUGAL FANS:

In order to optimise product life, the power supply to the fan/blower

unit should be rectified and stabilised with residual ripple values of

less than 1 % (maximum).

Higher ripple values will considerably reduce motor lifetime and

affect its regular functionality. Please contact us if you have

applications with higher values.

In order to protect the motor (at maximum speed), please fit a

suitable external fuse to interrupt power supply in case the motor

accidentally jams.

Please ensure that you shut off the external power supply if the

motor jams on fans with electronic speed control.

which is perforated.

ELECTRONIC CLIMATE CONTROLS:

We supply control units for AC systems for use with Eberspächer

Hydronic coolant heaters, Airtronic air heaters or with the vehicle

heating circuit.

The systems are operated by a single digital controller, giving

automatic control of both temperature and fan speed.

New features include high contrast LED back light, Half DIN slot

size, one piece control panel and soft feel push-buttons.

MANUAL CONTROLS

The manual controls adjust air conditioning evaporator blower

speed and temperature.

The large control is for setting the air flow and interior temperature.

Single controllers are also available.

Self-adhesive decals for labelling the controls can be affixed

directly to the vehicle's interior surfaces or to a supplied panel

mounting plate.

After pressing the auto push-button and setting the temperature

required inside the compartment, the unit will automatically

manage all the functions of the climate control system.

Users can switch automatic functions to manual mode by pressing

the relevant buttons individually by hand. The system will continue

in automatic mode except for the functions that have been

switched.
