Welcoming Messages

The Government of Canada is pleased to mark the 20th anniversary of Americana. This event is a vital platform for promoting discussion and reflection on the environmental issues we face, and the avenues toward solutions provided by technological innova-tions. Your presence among the 10,000 participants testifies to the importance of this event in North America and the world. Americana helps promote Canadian expertise and innovation worldwide, and we are proud to have been one of its partners from the beginning.

The growth in this sector shows that environmental and health protection can lead to innovation, create jobs and contribute to economic vitality. That is why our government chose to support environmental technological innovation, investing more than $10 billion in green infrastructure, energy efficiency, clean energy technologies, cleaner fuels and smarter grids.

I hope you find this event interesting and discover opportunities to discuss and promote new partner-ships that yield innovative solutions.

The Honourable Leona AglukkaqCanada’s Environment Minister

Americana, the largest multi-sectoral gathering of environment specialists in North America, has arrived! The 2015 edition promises to be spectacular – we’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of this major event. Americana has chosen to mark this milestone with a whole new look. Innovations in the exhibit hall, an illustrious panel discussing climate issues, improved speaker-session formats, ever-expanding networking opportunities and lots of surprises await you.

Americana is, unequivocally, a unique opportunity to share innovation. You’ll hear about what works best in the global arena, since we’re extending a welcome to representatives from some 50 countries and prestigious international groups, among others. Americana is also an opportunity to expand your network of contacts, through meetings with exhibitors or by using our reviewed and improved B2B. All of this makes Americana THE gathering of the year!

Over the next few days, Réseau Environnement – the organizer of Americana – will proudly show that it’s a key player in this area whose efforts to promote environmental good practices and innovation are unflagging.

On behalf of the entire team and myself, “Welcome!” I hope you live the Americana experience to the fullest.

Welcoming Messages

The Québec government is proud to support the International Environmental Technology Trade Show and Conference, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Ingenuity and technological know-how are in the spotlight here! Experts from around the world gather and share their knowledge to find promising future-oriented solutions.

Technological innovations are of vital importance, especially in the context of climate change – one of the greatest global challenges we face. Indeed, such innovations can play a significant role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the energy efficiency of our businesses.

The 2013-2020 Climate Change Action Plan provides for a broad range of measures that foster adapting to climate change and that promote our economic recovery. Through revenue from the Green Fund, estimated to reach 3.3 billion dollars by 2020, the government is supporting local businesses as they transition to a lower-carbon world. Together, let’s build the Québec of tomorrow and ensure a quality of life for our children!

I am convinced that this major event will be a resounding success. Best wishes to all for a great trade show and conference!

David HeurtelMinister of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight against Climate Change

I would like to welcome you to Montréal and to Americana, the International Environmental Technology Trade Show and Conference.

Like other large cities of the world, Montréal must face growing environmental challenges. Americana provides an exceptional platform to promote this strategic sector through meetings, conferences and a trade show. Thousands of delegates and keynote speakers from all continents will share their knowledge and experiences at this event with Sharing Innovation as a theme.

Allow me to congratulate the Réseau Environnement, organizer of Americana, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of this trade show and conference. Over the years, it has become one of the leading multi-sector events of its kind in North America.

I wish you a wonderful stay in Montréal, and hope that you will take advantage of the many opportunities available for business and technical and scientific exchange.

Enjoy Americana!

Denis CoderreMayor of Montréal
