Project IntroductionProject IntroductionProject IntroductionProject Introduction In Taiwan, Even though young people growing up in

normal family are sometimes afraid of speaking English when

facing foreigners, not to mention the disadvantaged children.

So Love for Kids Project wants to provide those disadvantaged

children an English learning environment, and broaden their

mind as well as horizons.

The main work of project is to teach English to elementary

school children. In the class, you can design creative

English-learning activities or games for them. Just put all your

passion and crazy ideas! Besides as an English teacher, you may

also become a story teller! Share your own growing story,

experience and culture to lovely kids. And you can prepare

some traditional clothes, arts, music, dance as many as you can

imagine.

Apart from children, you will also interact with the elder in

this project. You may have teatime or long talk with them,

sharing your knowledge of health care or make your hometown

dessert for them. Simultaneously, you can learn more about

Taiwanese culture from the elder, such as speaking Taiwanese,

writing calligraphy, playing Chinese chess, making Taiwanese

dessert and so on.

With your love, enthusiasm and patience, this Love for

Kids Project can provide those disadvantaged a door to the

unknown, create pictures of the world never seen, and allow

adventure never dared.

Taiwan is a beautiful island with various landforms. Located on the subtropical

zone, and mountains and beaches are all over there. Climate here is warm and humid

in summer. You can experience the tropical atmosphere. The scenery there is also amazing. The sunrise and clouds in Alisan, the stones

of strange shapes in Taroko National Park, the beautiful beaches in Kenting all

fascinate every tourist.

Night market can best represent the local culture of Taiwan. There are more

than 100 distinctive night markets in Taiwan. People can buy food from street

vendors and enjoy while walking. Not only food but also traditional games, cheap

products, karaoke shows you can marvel at. You must try it and be amused by

Taiwanese hospitality.

Foods in Taiwan are delicious and multifarious. Traditional Chinese food are

everywhere on the street. Steamed buns are filled with pork, but variations include

hot juice in it! Oyster-filled omelet is another food you must try. The egg is added

putting the mark to the water of flour with oysters. In the end, the sauce putting on

makes it delicious. If you try the food in Taiwan just once, you will remember it

forever. Truly hope you can come and enjoy every moment experience the diversity

of Taiwan!

Also know as Dragon Boat Festival, is originated in China and associated with other

Asian countries, like Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia. The festival occurs on 5/5 of lunar calendar,

if will be 6/12 this year, also the biggest festival in June.

This festival commemorates the death of poet Qu Yuan who servedin high offices in

ancient China. But then been distrusted by the king and was exiled. Few years’ later, other

country captures his country. In despair, Qu committed suicide by drowning himself in the

Miluo River on 5/5. The local people dropped sticky rice wrapped in bamboo leaves, which

was zongzi, into the river, hope that fish would not eat his body and eat zongzi instead.

On this day, dragon boat contest will be held in many places in Taiwan. People also said

that it would bring good luck to you, if you let an egg stand without any extra force in the

middle of that day. So come and join us on dragon boat festival, and make your own zongzi!

Taitung Hot Air Ballon Festival

Started in 2011, invite more than 10 countries to

participate. Not only Taiwan, but also teams around the world will bring their hot air balloon

and gather in Taitung (the eastern part of Taiwan). Always attract thousands of visitors. This

year, 8 US/Taiwan certified commercial pilots with 5 balloons including one special shaped

balloon will been seen,

as well as guests may experience a ride on hot air balloon up high. It will be taking place

from 6/1 to 8/11. This is definitely something you

can’t miss if you visit

JulyJulyJulyJuly Hohaiyan Music Festival

Form 7/10 to 7/14, Hohaiyan is the aboriginal name of the sea, and also the

name of the biggest music festival held at northeast coast of Taiwan. It started in

2000 and is entire free! This festival provides a stage for bands and independent

artists, including some aboriginal singers. It's also a chance for you to see the

beautiful scene of Fulong beach and rock with the music.

Yilan Children’s Folklore and Folk game Festival

To show and promote folk culture, every summer, Yilan government hold this

festival at Dongshan River Water Park, taking place in July and August for 44 days.

Started in 1996, it has four major forms- performance, exhibition, games and

exchange. The most exiting thing is that it presents a lot of water rides that will cool

you in hot summer. You can have fun and in the same get to know more about

Taiwanese traditional folk toys, also enjoy the beauty Yilan!
