finishings of a luxury hotel suite. Space is exploited to the full: the cabin has a large locker, a foldaway double bed and a private bathroom with shower. The same attention to detail is found in the two guest
cabins in the stern, furnished with twin beds and a large bathroom. The AICON 52 is quite simply a suite on the sea.

La sede storica di AICON sorge a soli 200 mt dal mare nell’area industriale di giammoro, a circa 4 km da Milazzo, in una posizione favorevolissima per il varo delle imbarcazioni prodotte nei cantieri AICON. L’area di produzione copre una superficie di 31.000 mq, 14.000 di questi al coperto. Su tali aree, nel periodo 2000-2006, è previsto un investimento di oltre 10 milioni di Euro, già effettuato per circa 3 milioni. L’area è organizzata in quattro grandi stabilimenti produttivi destinati a: uffici tecnici ed amministrativi e produzione manufatti in acciaio, produzione manufatti in legno (arredi) ed acciaio (componentistica), produzione componenti in vetroresina, produzione ed allestimento dei modelli fly 52’, 56’ e 64’. E’ la produzione degli arredi che distingue AICON dagli altri produttori di motor yachts. generalmente nel mondo della cantieristica da diporto gli arredi sono considerati come una fase semi-artigianale del processo. AICON, invece, considera gli arredi parte integrante del proprio ciclo produttivo e riesce a finalizzare qualità del prodotto finito e controllo dei costi mediante le grandi caratteristiche industriali della produzione che consentono così economia, controllo della qualità e scalabilità dei volumi. Nel quadro dell’integrazione produttiva nei cantieri di giammoro, vengono prodotti anche componenti in acciaio (musoni, bitte, etc.).
The original headquarters of AICON are situated only 200m from the sea in the Giammoro industrial estate, around 4km from Milazzo, in an ideal position for launching the boats produced in the AICON yards. Between 2000 and 2003, AICON invested over 3 million euros on the yard, which covers an area of 31,000 square metres, 14,000 of which are indoors. Between 2000-2006, a development plan projects an investment of over 10 million Euro in addition to the 3 million Euro already invested. The area is divided into three large production plants, respectively dealing with: technical and administrative offices and the production of steel parts, production of wooden furnishings and steel components, production and assembly of 52’ to 64’ flybridge motor yachts in GRP. It is the in-house production of furnishings which distinguishes AICON from other producers of motor yachts. Generally, yacht builders consider furnishings as a part of the process to be dealt with, at least in part, by outside craftsmen. AICON, meanwhile, consider the furnishings as an integral part of their production process and manage to offer a quality product and cost control by means of industrial production methods which allow economy, quality control and volume scalability. It should be noted that the Giammoro yards, in the perspective of centralised production, also produce the steel parts (bow rollers, cleats, etc.), with consequent cost optimisation of the finished product.

VILLAfRANCA TIRRENA
In un lotto dell’ex stabilimento Pirelli di Villafranca Tirrena, a circa 20 Km dalla sede di giammoro, sorge il nuovo insediamento produttivo AICON che sarà destinato esclusivamente alla produzione ed allestimento della gamma open fino a 70 piedi. Le aree produttive si sviluppano su una superficie di circa 10.000 mq, di cui 6.000 sono coperti. A pieno regime saranno 130 gli addetti che vi lavoreranno, tra diretti ed indiretti, e 40-50 saranno invece le imbarcazioni prodotte.
AUgUSTA
All’interno dell’area industriale di Augusta, accanto ad un noto cantiere di manutenzione navale, è situata quest’area produttiva di circa 20.000 mq, di cui 8.000 mq coperti. Nello stabilimento verranno prodotti i mega yachts e le navette semidislocanti NAUTA 110 e NAUTA 130.
MARINA AICON
Sul fronte mare di giammoro, a pochi metri dalla sede storica del gruppo, sta per vedere la luce il Marina AICON. Lo scopo fondamentale che AICON si prefigge è quello di offrire ai diportisti che navigano nel Mediterraneo servizi di assistenza, manutenzione e re-fitting. Il tutto favorito dalla posizione strategica della sua location così altamente frequentata non solo nel periodo estivo: a poche miglia dalle isole Eolie, tra Messina e Palermo. Un passo in più verso la realizzazione della “vision” AICON, cioè, spostare il baricentro della nautica da diporto in Sicilia non limitandosi alla produzione delle imbarcazioni. Entrato a regime il Marina AICON occuperà circa 40 addetti.
Oggi AICON dispone di aree per circa 68.000 mq di cui 25.000 mq coperti e, al completamento del piano di investimenti, disporrà di circa 150.000 mq di cui 60.000 mq coperti oltre una darsena di 16.000 mq. Queste le previsioni per una realtà in grande e continua espansione che vedrà ancora nuove conferme da parte del mercato internazionale.
VILLAfRANCA TIRRENA
A part of the former Pirelli plant at Villafranca Tirrena, around 20 Km from the headquarters in giammoro, houses the latest AICON production facility. This site will concentrate on the production of the open line, AICON 70’.The production facilities cover approximately 10.000 square metres of which 6.000 indoor. The plant will provide jobs for a workforce of 130 employees including people that will be employed in the related services and the production forecasts 40-50 vessels per year.
AUgUSTA – SIRACUSA
Situated in the Augusta industrial estate alongside a well-known maintenance shipyard, is situated this AICON production plant of around 20,000 square metres of which 8.000 indoors. The site will accommodate semidisplacement Megayacht, NAUTA 110 and NAUTA 130 series.
MARINA AICON
On the waterfront in giammoro, a few feet from the group’s headquarters, work is finishing on the AICON Marina. The marina was built to offer innovative services covering all the needs of pleasure boat users and their vessels, in a strategically perfect point at the centre of the Mediterranean, a few miles from the Aeolian Islands, between Messina and Palermo. This tract of sea, with its unique landscape and history, is a perfect stopover for those who love the Mediterranean. It also represents a further step towards realisation of the AICON vision – shifting the focus of yacht builders in Sicily from simply producing boats towards an approach in which importance is also given to after-sales customer services. The Marina workforce will count 40 employees.
When the plant begins to produce at full steam, it will provide jobs for a workforce of 80 people. Today AICON owns around 68,000 square metres (of which 25,000 square metres indoors) and, upon completion of the investment plan, will have around 150,000 square metres (of which 60,000 indoors), in addition to a wet dock of 16,000 square metres. These are the forecasts for a sector in continuous expansion, which is expected to see further success on the international market.
