The Sister Chapters program helps prepare our students for the increasingly
global environment they will enter upon graduation. This program
complements AIChE global development initiatives by connecting AIChE Student
Chapters from different countries to form yearlong partnerships throughout the
academic year.
The goal of the Sister Chapter Program is to match up Student Chapters from
different countries and allow them to network with Chemical Engineers in
different parts of the world. It also encourages chapters to discuss their
Student Chapter goals and give each other ideas on how to improve their
Student Chapters.
Brigham Young University, Utah is the American Sister Chapter of BITS Pilani,
Dubai for the session 2015-2016. In the recent skype conference with Mr.
Benjamin Fisher, the officers’ board discussed few things, mainly regarding
sponsorship and activities. Our Officers’ Board is in constant communication
with their council through e-mails for further queries.
The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), the global home of
chemical engineers is a group focused on helping chemical engineering students
get involved outside the classroom. In a competitive, ever-changing world, you
need professional support to guide you on your journey. AIChE is a great route of
connections between professors, students, alumni and companies. AIChE gives
you your first professional credential, exiting networking and mentorship
opportunities, essential educational and technical resources and career services –
all tools you need in one place.

under the mentorship of Dr. Nishant Pandya, the HOD of the Department of
Chemical Engineering. Software: ASPEN Plus
After the registration, an introduction was given to the ASPEN Plus Environment
and Database. Various topics were covered during this session, such as
Sensitivity Analysis and Design Specifications. Introduction to Drying and other
solid handling operations was also undertaken. Finally, evaluation was done and
a complete feedback was also taken.
Inter-Collegiate Chem-E Debate Tournament

AIChE Student Chapter of BITS Pilani Dubai Campus organised its first Inter-
Collegiate Chem-E Debate Tournament (ICDT) in the region, during the BPDC
Interuniversity Student Fest – Enginuity November ’16, on the 27th and 29th
November 2016.
ICDT is an Inter-Collegiate Debate Tournament was based on topics related to
Chemical Engineering. The topics covered debatable issues over chemical laws,
environment laws, sustainability, etc. The competition aimed to encourage youth
to draw conclusions to such issues from their unique perspective and think in a
way that future leaders would. It was organized by the 3rd year students Rutuja
Jadhav and Srinivasakanan Krishna along with the AIChE Officers’ Jithin

and other faculties from the Department of Chemical Engineering were also
present for the event.
After an intense battle of science, technology and of course words, BITS team 1 -
Aishwarya Roy, Manasa Prasad and Aparna Rajendrakumar bagged the first
position. Varun Vinod, from the Manipal team secured the title of 'Best Speaker'.
Overall, the event was a healthy means of debating over Important technical
issues faced by the world. It brought in the perspective of today's youth over
issues of laws, engineering ethics, sustainability etc.
The collaboration brought about by ICDT amongst all other AIChE chapters in
