RECOMMENDED that:

Aircraft Movement Control — AHM 780

AIRCRAFT MOVEMENT MESSAGE

The standard format for Aircraft Movement Message (MVT) will be used for manually issued as well as machine-issueddeparture, arrival and delay messages. The standard format for Aircraft Initiated Movement Message (MVA) will be used for Aircraft Initiated (e.g. ACARS) departure, arrival and delay messages.Note: MVA designator can only be used for messages containing aircraft initiated departure, arrival and/or delay times.Otherwise, the MVT designator must be used.Dispatch of MVT or MVA Messages:

departure and arrival message to be dispatched immediately after departure or arrival of an aircraft;delay message to be dispatched as soon as delay is known.

All dates/times expressed in UTC.Handling agents and carriers acting as handling companies shall transmit all mandatory elements, and specified optionalelements of the MVT message as bilaterally agreed. The elements shall be in the order presented in each part of the Table ofFormat.Message Elements Status (M/C/O)MANDATORY — the status of a data element, marked M, containing information that forms a fundamental part of the procedureand must always be included.CONDITIONAL — the status of a data element, marked C, which becomes mandatory under certain circumstances which have tobe specified. May be omitted if these circumstances do not prevailOPTIONAL — the status of a data element, marked O, which may be omitted if not required by the Carrier or Governmentalregulations. Omission of this element is independent of all other elements and does not have any effect on other elements.Note: For carriers own flight the optional elements need not be transmitted.

Part 5. Message CorrectionTo correct a message already transmitted it is necessary to send a new complete message. To identify such messages the standard message identifier (COR) must be shown on the first text line. The standard messageidentifier (MVT or MVA) shall be on the second text line.Where there is no corrected date/time group element available, the date/time group shall be replaced with ‘9’ for each digit (e.g.9999 or 999999). This will erase the incorrect data.Message Examples
