Sample itinerary of a Faculty-led program to Brazil for Agriculture and Agribusiness studentsTRANSCRIPT
Day 1 - Sunday
morning: arrival at São Paulo International Airport / transfer to the hotel / orientation session
afternoon: tour around the hotel in order to know the facilities / Paulista avenue walking tour: visit to the Antique Market under the São Paulo Museum of Art
evening: welcome dinner at a Brazilian Steak House
Day 2 - Monday
morning: visit and presentation at a Food and Agri financing bank
afternoon: visit to a Sugarcane/ethanol company headquarted in São Paulo
evening: night-out at Skye Bar, one of the most fabulous views of São Paulo’s Skyline!
Day 3 - Tuesday
morning: visit to a Food Processor company based in São Paulo
afternoon: visit and presentation to a Soy Bean company and departure to Piracicaba
evening: hotel check in and night-out in Piracicaba
Day 4 - Wednesday
morning : lectures at a local university: “Importance of Agriculture in Brazilian Economy” /“Economic Overview of Growing Corn and Soybean in Brazil”
afternoon: meet Brazilian students who will make a presentation of their Junior Enterprise
evening: Brazilian barbecue reception with students
Day 5 - Thursday
morning: visit to a agriculture machinery plant specialized on sugarcane
afternoon: visit and presentation at the Sugarcane Research Center
evening: soccer experience
Day 6 - Friday
morning: technical visita to a sugarcane mill, get to know how ethanol and sugar are produced
afternoon: transfer in a private bus to Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza in Mococa
evening: lodge check-in, welcome session and dinner at the Fazenda
Day 7 - Saturday
morning: Coffee trail (Active Organic X Passive Organic) followed by a discussion on Sustainability
afternoon: Social projects presentation and visit / tree planting activity to minimize the study trip carbon emissions
evening: Pizza party
Day 8 - Sunday
morning: coffee seminar with specialists will be held at Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza, participants will be abble to understand better production and coffee market
afternoon: coffee cupping: practice of observing the tastes and aromas of brewed coffee / swimming in a pond
evening: group dinner and bonfire
Day 9 - Monday
morning: lodge check out and transfer to Guarujá
afternoon: hotel check in / time off to enjoy one of the paulista’s most famous beaches
evening: get together at Praia da Enseada
Day 10 - Tuesday
morning: visit to the Port of Santos, Latin America most important port to learn about the drilling and exportation of agricultural products
afternoon: visit to the Coffee Museum to learn more about the importance of the cofee production in Brazilian history
evening: farewell dinner
Day 11 - Wenesday
morning: time off to buy some souvenirs ou to enjoy Praia do Tombo beach
afternoon: hotel check out and transfer in a private bus to São Paulo International Airport
evening: flight back to your home country
