Helpful ResourcesOSU 2018 Farm Bill Resources • http://go.osu.edu/farmbill2019Resources and decision aid tools for the 2018 Farm Bill. Recorded webinars and local meetings are available online.

OSU Addressing 2019 Agricultural Challenges • http://go.osu.edu/agcrisisCFAES experts know that 2019 was a year that was particularly challenging of Ohio growers and producers due to the historic rainfall in Ohio and later dryer conditions across the state. A task force was created to address concerns and offer the best science-based recommendations for and solutions to the issues growers are facing regarding weather impacts, tariffs and low commodity prices. Topics include livestock feed shortages, dairy production, weather related topics, financial management, fruit production, vegetable production and farm stress.

eFields • http://digitalag.osu.edu/efieldseFields represents an Ohio State University program decided to advancing production agriculture through the use of field-scale research. This program utilizes modern technologies and information to conduct on-farm studies with an educational demonstration component used to help farmers and their advisors understand how new practices and techniques can improve farm efficiency and profitability. The program is also dedicated to delivering timely and relevant, data-driven, actionable information. Current projects are focused on precision nutrient management strategies and technologies to improve efficiency of fertilizer placement, enable on-farm evaluation, automate machine functionality, enhance placement of pesticides and seed, and develop analytic tools for digital agriculture.

Ohio State FARM - Field Application Resource Monitor • http://farm.bpcrc.osu.eduFARM is a real-time and historical climate information tool for fertilizer and manure application. Water quality is important to all Ohioans and we all impact our watersheds. In recent years, Ohio farmers have taken significant positive steps toward limiting the negative impacts on water quality that come from the loss of sediment and nutrients. FARM allows users to define their locations of interest and receive 12- and 24-hour precipitation forecasts to aid in the application of fertilizer, manure, and/or pesticides. FARM also utilizes a database of historical forecasts allowing users to search previous dates. Users can choose to create an account to track multiple fields, explore statewide conditions in quick-view, and sign-up to receive email alerts.

New and Small Farms Team • http://agnr.osu.edu/small-farm-programsInformation for new and smaller production farms including conferences and classes. The mission of the small farm team is to provide a greater understanding of production practices, economics of land use choices, assessment of personal and natural resources, marketing alternatives, and the identification of sources of assistance for new and small farms in Ohio.

On-Field Ohio • http://nutrientmanagement.osu.eduOn-Field Ohio! (OFO) is intended to provide a long-term average estimate of field scale erosion and phosphorus (P) runoff risk based on field properties (i.e. soil type, soil test P (STP), slope steepness) and farmer practices (i.e. crop management scenario (CMS), tillage and nutrient management). This allows farmers to prioritize time and resources to make effective management decisions. The output provides the user information regarding the amount and source of erosion and P loss which can be used to evaluate management practices to reduce nutrient loss.
