Operational safety and speed are the crucial factors for

optimum liquid manure management – pump tanks

offer both. The technology is based on our rotary lobe

pumps, which are attached either to liquid manure

tanks or self-propelled vehicles; it enables active feed-

ing of liquid manure and digestates. During the liquid

manure season, this provides decisive advantages over

vacuum and centrifugal pumping technology:

Agricultural technology | Pump technology

In pump tanks, the vacuum remains constant and powerful

throughout the entire filling process. There is only minimal loss

of suction force, even for liquid manure pits with a depth of up to

eight meters. Unlike a vacuum tank, the entire tank is filled here,

making full use of the whole volume. Pump tanks are, therefore,

quick to fill and foaming is kept to a minimum. This can result in

up to 30% time savings for filling compared to a vacuum tank,

which means you can return to the field much quicker.

Integrated mixingActive transferring/circulation homogenizes the liquid manure in

the tank. This prevents build-up of fibrous matter.

The Vogelsang InjectionSystem provides unique

protection against foreign matter contained in

the medium. As a result, there’s no need to worry

about your pump.

The InjectionSystem guides foreign matter in liquid manure and

digestates directly into the lobe‘s pumping area. The foreign mat-

ter that would otherwise damage the lobes and reduce the pump‘s

performance passes safely through the pumping chamber. This

prevents damage to the lobe blade and significantly lengthens the

pump‘s service time. Depending on the concentration of foreign

matter, the time between rotary lobe changes can be increased by

up to 200%.

InjectionSystem – reliable pro-tection against lobe damage The cartridge mechanical sealing package for your Vogelsang

rotary lobe pump consists of the gasket to the pump chamber

and the gearbox, plus a buffer chamber between the two. The

Vogelsang Quality Cartridge seal is a single part, unlike conven-

tional component seals that take time and effort to piece back

together. The gasket is pre-installed and checked at the factory

for proper functioning and leak tightness.

Vogelsang‘s patented cartridge mechanical seal significantly

improves ease of maintenance. Thanks to its cartridge design,

the gasket can be installed quickly and easily in a single step.

With their simple and sturdy components,

Vogelsang R series pumps are the leading

agricultural rotary lobe pumps for dura-

bility. The R series pumps have a double

bearing and extra wide shaft diameter.

You can also choose from a variety of

sizes, rotary lobes and materials. The

R series is particularly well suited as a

liquid manure pump for the farm, as a

filling and draining pump for tankers or

as a mobile pump. Like all rotary lobe

pumps, the R series is self-priming, very

resistant to dry running and can be op-

erated in both flow directions. The offset

arrangement of the rotary lobes ensures

running with low pulsation.

The RP versionThe rotary lobe pump is also available as

an RP version in size 136 and the Quick-

Service design for fast and uncomplicat-

ed lobe changes. The pump remains fully

installed when changing the lobe and

the shaft bearing can stay closed.

Materials in the R seriesThe pump chamber is made of grey cast

iron, with good anti-friction characteris-

tics and a strong resistance to abrasive

wear. The face sides, which are subjected

to greater strains, are protected from

wear by special high-strength steel

plates.

Lobes in the R seriesWe have developed special compounds

for the elastomer that surrounds the lobe

core in our rotary lobe pumps. They make

it possible to tailor every pump to the

specific medium and guarantee extra du-

rability. We have a range of lobe options,

including NBR, SBR, FPM and Werobust.

That was our goal when developing the

new pump. We aimed to make work

easier while completely satisfying special

requirements for the liquid manure me-

dium. The pump also had to be especially

durable and operating costs kept within

budget. The result, our FarmerPump, a

rotary lobe pump for day to day farm

applications.

The FarmerPump is a professional liquid

manure pump with no torque increase. It

was specially designed for agricultural use,

with max. 8 bar and max. 4500 l/min.

oil circulation lubrication means that all

this eliminates a common fiber trap while

increasing pumping power and reducing

diesel or electric consumption.

Our block ring seals are highly resistant to fibrous matterMechanical seals are significantly more

durable than radial shaft seals. The Farmer-

Pump uses Vogelsang‘s specially developed

block ring variant of the mechanical seal.

The special block increases the pump‘s

resistance to fibers in the liquid manure

even further. With more pumping and less

maintenance, the block ring seal is the

high-tech seal for pumping liquid manure.

Adjustable pump housing segments:

It is possible to compensate for the wear on the pump housing segments without using additional parts. Advantage: optimum utilization of the material and extended service life.

HiFlo® rotary lobes:

Pulsation-free pumping prolongs the service life of the drive and coupling. The pumping speed is also improved thanks to reduced cavitation; a higher capacity is realized as a result of the increased speed limits.

Cartridge mechanical seal:

This component was devel-oped and patented by us. The complete pre-installed unit comprises all components. It is checked at the factory and is automatically activated.

With pumping outputs of up to 16 bar and up to 17088 l/min,

they provide effective support and maximum performance for any

size tank. Everything is designed to increase operational safety in

the tank and to lengthen the service time. To do this, the VX series

combines high-end pump technology with compact dimensions.

FillMaster SThe stationary FillMaster S enables con-

venient and quick filling of tankers from

containers or digesters. There is no need

for complex, time-consuming coupling

and uncoupling of hoses. The filling con-

nectors with double telescope can be

lowered manually or electrically, on

request. That way, any tank can be filled

quickly via the dome. FillMaster S can

be equipped with a convenient wireless

remote control or a wired remote control,

on request.

Depending on the application, capacities

of up to 11000 l/min can be achieved. It

can be equipped with a rotary lobe pump

from the VX series or a PowerFill. Various

drive concepts are available.

PowerFillPowerFill makes it possible to fill vacuum

tanks up to 30% faster. Additionally, the

liquid manure is homogenized during

the filling procedure, making it easier to

spread more precisely. PowerFill is suita-

ble for any vacuum tank and easy to

retrofit via a 6 or 8 inch flange connection.

The necessary hydraulic performance:

minimum 50 l/min at 160 bar, maximum

70 l/min at 175 bar.

TopServiceTopService is the innovative installation

concept for pumps on the tanker, ensur-

ing easy access to the most important

parts and quick service. The pump is

placed vertically on the drawbar and the

space requirement is especially compact.

The lobes can be easily replaced from

above.

FillMaster MThe mobile FillMaster M with three-point

fixture can be transported by a tractor.

Its centerpiece is a rotary lobe pump from

the VX series, driven by the cardan shaft.

There is a choice of two options for filling

the tanker: via hose and connecting piece

with Perrot coupling, or from above via

the integrated T-system column. A 3-way

cock lets you change the filling method.

The positioning of the T-system column

is especially user-friendly thanks to the

hydraulic support. The integrated stone

catcher reliably separates out substantial

foreign matter.

The FillMaster M is equipped with hose

brackets so that everything can be stowed

away safely during transport and quickly

connected on site.

DuoShiftThe DuoShift concept is based on a

multi-chamber pumping principle that

primarily relieves the strain on the tractor

and pump.

Rapid tank filling is possible during idling

because both pump chambers are used for

the filling procedure. Suction out of deeper

pits or suction of more viscous liquid

manure is no trouble. Furthermore, the risk

of cavitation or breakdown of the intake

flow is reduced because of the low speed.

DuoShift scheme

Spreading positionTank filling

During spreading, the pump chambers

work separately at high speeds. One

pump chamber is used to feed the preci-

sion distributor and the second continu-

ously stirs the tank. This keeps the liquid

manure homogenous – which is good for

spreading and fertilization.

No additional valves or slide valves are

needed to use the DuoShift concept.

TopService installation is also possible for

the pump. DuoShift is compatible with

all standard cardan shaft speeds.

Pumps with gearboxWhen Vogelsang rotary lobe pumps are

connected to a two-speed gearbox, it

is possible to achieve different delivery

rates almost independently of the motor

speed. The gearbox also enables you

to quickly fill the tank when idling and

to optimally set the spreading capacity

to the desired level during travel. The

pump’s gears can be conveniently shifted

from the tractor cabin.

The pump and gearbox are configured in

consultation with the customer.

RotaCut – shredding technology and foreign matter protectionThe more flowable and homogenous

that liquid manure and digestates are,

the more effectively they can be used as

organic fertilizers. A RotaCut macerates all

the coarse and fibrous matter in the liquid

manure. In addition, it provides effective

protection against foreign matter and

heavy material. On a liquid manure trans-

port vehicle, RotaCut provides reliable pro-

tection for the pump system and ensures

a homogenous and easily metered liquid

manure suspension.

RotaCut – how it worksThe continuously flowing medium first

passes through the foreign matter

separator and is then fed to the cutter.

Foreign objects (stones, metal parts, etc.)

are separated out based on their size

or weight and can be easily disposed of

later via a cleaning port. Floating and

suspended substances within the me-

dium (fibers, hair, bones, wood, etc.) are

transported to the cutting screen by the

liquid current and macerated by rotating,

self-sharpening blades.

ACC (Automatic Cut Control)The ACC automatically adjusts the cutting

blades. This keeps the necessary contact

pressure between the cutting blade and

be externally adapted to suit the medium

during operation.

RotaCut MXL for vehiclesThe RotaCut MXL is the ideal solution

for special requirements in the field of

vehicle construction. It cuts fibers just

as reliably as it separates heavy material

and can be easily installed on a vehicle.

Its large opening provides easy access

for service and maintenance, and heavy

material can be easily removed.

RotaCut for energy-producing farmersIf cosubstrates reach the digester well mac-

erated and mashed, the gas yield increases

significantly and the strain on the mixer is

greatly reduced. Vogelsang offers energy-

producing farmers a complete range of special

RotaCut units for shredding, including the
