Regulation Summary
• 1). In 1972, the Clean Water Act was passed, Sometime in the early 1980’s the Army Corps of Engineers begun regulating the placement of fill material in certain wetlands.
• 2). In 1985, the U.S. Farm Bill added restrictions to
draining wetlands for crop production purposes. • 3). Illinois Department of Natural Resources adopted
more stringent floodplain regulations in 1988.
• 4). January 2002, Kane County Stormwater Management Ordinance takes effect countywide.
