Construction Capabilities

From assuming complete contract responsibility to acting as the client’s agent, our construction practice offers the maximum flexibility in project delivery solutions. By engaging accountable people and processes, CH2M HILL minimizes escalation costs and keeps project scope, schedule, and budgets in line with expectations. Whether you choose our full EPC capability, or individual construction services, CH2M HILL’s integrated approach to project delivery helps satisfy plant, process, or system requirements, while achieving financial return, operational performance, and competitive advantage objectives.

Engineering · Procurement · Construction (EPC)

If you prefer to write one contract for a finished plant to avoid allocating considerable time and personnel resources to project management, EPC is best aligned with your needs. EPC offers you single-source accountability for engineering, procurement, and construction of your project, from concept all the way to turnover and start-up.

Engineering · Procurement · Construction Management (EPCM)

EPCM offers you the advantages of EPC — speed and single-source accountability — but with the option of choosing a greater degree of involvement in your project. Such a delivery method accommodates projects requiring phased execution of near- and long-term decisions. CH2M HILL acts as your agent for construction, managing your contracts with each service provider.

Construction Management (CM)

If you would rather manage the engineering, procurement, and construction of your project with separate providers, then CH2M HILL’s CM is your delivery method of choice. With CM, CH2M HILL serves as your advocate in both design and construction, protecting your interests in agreements with vendors and contractors. You get a consistent level of control over the entire engineering, procurement, and construction management process.

Page 21: Agricultural and Construction Machinery Qualifications

Project / Program Support Capabilities

CH2M HILL provides the supporting services necessary to make your project a success. Our services include cost tracking, planning and scheduling, construction site setup, estimating, and procurement. We integrate each of these services into the infrastructure of your project to ensure it will remain on time and on budget.

The size and type of your project will determine what scheduling and planning tools should be used. Typically, we use Microsoft Project or Primavera for project scheduling. Our scheduling staff has years of experience in planning and scheduling and is well versed in working with multiple disciplines to develop accurate and workable schedules.

Estimating

Historically, estimates are as good as the defined scope of the work and the time available to define and refine that scope. We believe CH2M HILL has one of the best methods of defining project scope and providing accurate estimates in the industry.

Procurement

Your project is unique and requires a unique procurement plan, achieving your needs and objectives. Some of the items we take into consideration when developing a procurement plan are cost, delivery, company/plant standards, commercial/legal issues, receiving, invoicing, and storage requirements. By integrating all of these variables into one plan, we are able to minimize your procurement costs.

We prepare complete inquiry packages tailored to meet your project objectives and include requests for machine specifications, expectations of performance, and project timing.

Tracking and Expediting

Our tracking and expediting techniques allow deliverables to be received on time, beginning with approved drawings and continuing through receiving equipment on-site. We have developed standard processes for receiving equipment and processing invoices that coordinate with our on-site construction team to maintain your construction schedules.
