PwC 1

Agriculture is rapidly growing as one of the key industries globally, given the increased worldwide awareness of food security, food trust and sustainable food production.

We examine the issues and build teams of subject matter specialists who develop appropriate solutions through our assurance, tax and advisory services.

1. Introduction

To this end, we endeavour to keep abreast of the industry issues facing our clients. We examine the issues and build teams of subject matter specialists who develop appropriate solutions through our assurance, tax and advisory services. For global clients, we assemble experienced teams from our offices around the world who contribute local insight in addition to global experience. At PwC, we do not only examine the industry issues to understand your concerns; we are also committed to constantly evaluating and enhancing our services to better meet your needs.

PwC is fast becoming a world leader in providing professional services to the agricultural sector and food value chain – starting with the primary producer and moving through to the retailer and end-consumer. Our strength in serving this truly global sector is derived from our skills, our experience and our team of industry specialists. We look forward to working with your company.

Agriculture accounts for more than

50% of employment

Yet companies in the agricultural value chain find themselves facing a large number of challenges. The tight regulatory environment, changing climate patterns and the associated impact on agricultural production, competition from international players, changing geopolitics, security of supply, social and environmental sustainability, and increased stakeholder demands all contribute to the complexity of the industry.

In the African context, agriculture accounts for more than 50% of employment and domestic trade, making it the most likely sector to drive Africa’s economic growth in the 21st century.

At PwC, we take cognisance of the crucial role that agriculture plays and are geared to support our agri-clients to the fullest extent. Our approach is to place ourselves in their shoes, enabling us to understand their exact needs and add value by applying our knowledge and experience.
